Key Points
• Steering committees to consist of a maximum of 20 members (can be less than 20 dependent upon the council)
• LC members automatically eligible for steering committee election
• 3 strike rule: for steering committee members who miss 3 meetings in a calendar year
• Review of steering committee members every 12 months (performance, commitment etc.)
Next Steps
1. Merging sub committees – the four sub-committees will be merged in to one steering committee.
2. Phased approach – the steering committee will be formed in Q4 but not immediately due to the important work on-going e.g. e-Privacy Directive.
3. Project groups – Project groups will be formed to work with the steering committee and give those not on the steering committee the opportunity to be voted up.
