ABOUT WBE CANADA
WBE Canada (Women Business Enterprises Canada Council) is a non-profit organization that is opening doors for Canadian women-owned businesses to supply chains across North America. We are the bridge between corporate and public procurement and Canadian Women Business Enterprises (WBEs). We focus on building relationships, facilitating knowledge transfer and driving economic growth.
GOVERNANCE WBE Canada is governed by a voluntary Board of Directors representing corporate and government organizations committed to supplier diversity such as Accenture, BMO Financial Group, Nokia, the City of Toronto, Telus, RBC and others.

WHO WE SERVE
WBE Canada is the bridge between corporate/government buyers and Canadian WBE (Women Business Enterprises) suppliers. Our 2019 Corporate Members represent organizations committed to engaging Canadian WBEs in their procurement opportunities. As of October 2019 WBE Canada had 31 Corporate Members which represent the top 1% of large corporations who are committed to supporting Canadian women-owned businesses through supplier diversity programs. Our goal is to triple this number to increase opportunities for Canadian women-owned business across North America.
Our Corporate Members’ supplier diversity programs benefit from our WBE certification services - we certify Canadian businesses that are 51% or more owned, managed and controlled by women. Since our inception in 2009 we have certified over 600 business. As of November 2019 our database included 279 certified WBEs from across Canada. This number continues to grow with each new corporation committed to buying from Canadian business women.

CERTIFICATIONWBE Canada certifies Canadian businesses that are at least 51% owned, managed and controlled by women. Certification is built on the Women Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) U.S. model and our rigorous standard of certification is recognized by supplier diversity programs of organizations like General Motors, Toyota, Accenture, and top Canadian Corporations like BMO, TD Bank, RBC, TELUS, City of Toronto and others.
TRAINING & SUPPORTWBE Canada delivers education, training, coaching and mentoring programs that ramp up the capacity of women business owners to bid successfully on large procurement opportunities. This support contributes to significant growth for women-owned businesses. WBE Canada also provides necessary connection among procurement professionals focusing on implementation of supplier diversity programs for idea sharing, best practice development and networking.

WBE Canada recognizes and rewards significant achievements in supplier diversity in Canada. Our Awards are celebrated once a year at the Annual Conference which is our largest event bringing together our community of WBEs, Corporate Members, Partners and other supporters from across Canada and the United States.

FRENCH TRANSLATIONTo allow accessibility for all groups of Canadian women-owned businesses WBE Canada is looking to provide information about certification and supplier diversity in both official languages. This means that our website and all materials will need to be translated into French. You can support this initiative by choosing to sponsor this project.
TOOLS FOR GROWTH MEMBER AREAWBE Canada is committed to the success of Canadian WBEs. WBE CANADA WEBINARSWBE Canada features its Corporate Member organizations via webinar opportunities. The goal is to inform Certified WBEs about the company’s supplier diversity program, process and requirements. This recording is added to our “Tools for Growth” Library for Certified WBEs. In 2020 WBE Canada will be launching public educational webinars to engage new audiences and raise awareness about supplier diversity.
