Since October 2008, Legris has been through many
changes. Becoming the Fluid System Connectors
europe division of Parker Hannifin has given all of
us the opportunity to discover and grow, to create
new partnerships and share expertise, to cultivate
quality and achievement.
This edition of Connectic Magazine, a familiar tool
that has been revamped to reflect our new identity,
reveals several recent accomplishments:
a new-and-improved LF 3600 product range, along
with a success story pursued with ARO; a brand-
new partnership with AVN Automation, long-time
Parker distributor; and communication tools now
available to promote our products with the Parker-
Legris brand image.
together we can ensure that partnerships, old and
new, create value and remain invaluable.

A New Generation of LF 3600, the “All-Terrain” Fittings
4
The Parker-Legris Connectic News Magazine
The LF 3600 fittings range
has gotten a facelift: this
range of extremely robust
fittings is now new-and-
improved. Resisting temp-
eratures of up to 150°C
(as compared to 120°C),
and functioning at 99%
vacuum at as high as 30
bars (and not only 20 bars),
the LF 3600 is the one and
only fitting on the
market capable
of such a per-
formance.
These improved
technical features
allow the fittings
to be sterilized
and to be used in
sterilization equipment (ideal
for medical applications),
as well as in cooking
ovens (perfect for the
food process industry, for
example). Able to transport
many different fluids,
including compressed air,
grease, and water, the LF
3600 is truly a multi-fluid,
multi-application range,
designed to handle a wider
variety of "terrain" than
most other fittings.
The high phosphorous
FDA-approved chemical
nickel plating, more
resistant to chemical and
mechanical aggression
than common nickel
plating, improves resistance
to aggressive fluids by
creating a barrier between
the fluids and the brass.
This allows the fitting to be
in contact with food
(although not on a
permanent basis), making
it perfectly compatible with
the splash zone in the food
process industry, for
instance. Indeed, its
resistance to aggressive
cleaning agents (slightly
corrosive, non-toxic and
non-absorbent materials),
combined with its mech-
anical strength during use
and/or cleaning, make it
clearly suited to
this function.
Furthermore,
the seal used is
composed
of FKM rubber,
whose
characteristics
allow it to resist
temperature and chemical
aggression much better
than NBR and EPDM seals,
and it is ozone-
resistant and can come into
direct contact with food.
In terms of mechanical
resistance, the sub-base
has extra-long cylindrical
threads to ensure
optimum thread resistance

to stress; the thread length
reaches the maximum
length as determined by the
ISO standard. In addition,
the range’s collet gripping
system has improved
tensile strength and long-
term resistance compared
to gripping ring technology.
The collet gripping system
is perfect for cyclical
pressure resistance and
pressure peaks. The unit
control in place guarantees
that 100% of the pieces
are tested and verified, with
the date marked on every
product, allowing for trace-
ability. The qualities of this
new generation LF 3600
product range meet the
extremely demanding
requirements inherent to
the automobile, medical
and food process markets,
conforming to RoHS, FDA
and 1935/2004/EC
directives*. Thanks to this
incredible flexibility of use
in various applications and
markets, the LF 3600 range
proves its “all-terrain”
capabilities. The range
offers a very wide selection
of fittings, compatible
with many other products
to create a global and
comprehensive offer. The
tube diameters range from
4 to 14 mm and from 5/32
to ½ inches. The thread
sizes come in M5 and M7
for metric, while the inch
sizes range from 1/8 to ½
BSPP and BSPT. Replying
to special requests is easily
possible, as the fittings
are all-metal and can be
machined to fit the specific
needs of our customers.
A banjo for railway
applications has been
designed to fit one specific
customer’s need; a special
cartridge and elbow were
developed for food, dairy,
and brewery installations
and for biopharmaceutical
applications. The poss-
ibilities in terms of tube material
are extensive: Polyurethane,
Polyamide, Polyethylene,
Fluoroethylene-propylene,
and anti-static tubing are all
suitable for use with the
LF 3600 fittings. Whatever
the customer’s need may
be, we’ve got the product.

All-Terrain: LF 3600, the "4x4" of the fittings world
In the automotive process industry, many different processes require a fitting:
welding robots, vacuum networks, machining, lubrification, cooling and painting.
The LF 3600 fittings are capable of integrating all of these processes, transport-
ing all of the fluids involved. This “all-terrain” capability allows our customers to
purchase one fitting for all applications, rather than several separate fittings. This
offers not only a financial advantage, but also an advantage in terms of stock
reduction, eliminating the risk of confusion in maintenance as well.

NEwS rEporT
The AVN Group is a
powerful business partner
for Danish industry. Divided
into five subsidiaries, the
AVN Group is primarily
involved in projects
within the wind turbine
industry, for sheet metal
processing machinery, in
the field of tools, and in
automation, pneumatics
and hydraulics. The AVN
Group collaborates closely
with its customers in order
to offer turnkey solutions
within these different
business areas with the
common approach, “The
technical aspects must
be in order.” A long-time
partner of the Parker group,
AVN Automation, one of
the five subsidiaries of
the AVN Group, began
referencing Legris’ Low
Pressure products in
May 2009. Per Brock,
Distribution Manager for
the Danish Parker Sales
Company (PSC), Flemming
Pedersen, Automation
Product Specialist for the
Danish PSC, and Yann
Hautière, Business
Development Manager
for Central and Northern
European Distribution for
Legris, met with Steen
Hjorth , Product Manager
of the AVN Automation
subsidiary. Following a
presentation of the
features and benefits
of Legris’ products, with
an introduction to the
products and application
explanations, AVN
immediately welcomed
Legris as a sub-supplier,
qualifying its offer as
“quite impressive”. As a
matter of fact, AVN is no
stranger to the Legris
offer, and has sold Legris
products in the past. Many
aspects of our offer are
extremely convincing for
AVN and AVN’s customers:
superior product and
service quality, as well
as the product safety
features. Product quality
is highlighted in Legris’
catalogue, which is highly
appreciated as well, as
Steen Hjorth points out,
saying, “The catalogue makes
it very easy to find products,
as well as to find their
prices.” Focus on technical
assets in the catalogue
puts further emphasis

AVN is using a poster of the Legris range with the Parker-Legris Connectic and AVN logos appearing simultaneously – an example of true partnership!

NEwS rEporT on product quality. Another
compelling advantage is
the safety aspect, which is
immediately visible for AVN’s
customers: given a product
sample, customers are able
to manipulate the instant
connect/disconnect feature
and judge its efficiency for
themselves. According to
AVN, their customers are
won over on the spot.
“We find it very interesting to
work with Legris, whose products
are very good. The acquisition
of Legris by Parker has given
us new opportunities to present
to our customers, so we are of
course very happy about the
situation,” says Steen Hjorth.
From almost the very first day
that Legris was referenced
by AVN, the response was
extremely positive, with
customers (primarily in the
chemical and dairy industries)
ordering products right
away. The Legris reputation
is acknowledged without
hesitation, with Per Brock
concluding, “The product is
well-known as a superior product”.
Success StoryOne AVN customer in the dairy industry was working with a machine
supplied from Germany, and the machine was equipped with the
Legris LF 3600 fittings. The dairy customer found the machine’s
performance so convincing, that he began to order Legris products
from AVN as well. In addition to top-notch product performance, one
of the most persuasive arguments for customers in the food industry
is the official FDA seal of approval, from which the LF 3600 fittings
benefit. The endorsement from the Food and Drug Administration is
very difficult to obtain, making it all the more significant a guarantee
of product quality for customers in the food industry.

Aro’s welding Guns and the LF 3600 Fittings: a Success Story
8
The Parker-Legris Connectic News Magazine
ARO, the French division
of the British group Langley
Holdings, is one of the
world leaders in the area
of resistance welding
technology, for the
automotive industry as well
as other industries. With
its headquarters based in
Château-du-Loir, near
Le Mans, ARO employs
450 people, including 280
in France, with a consolidated
turnover of 63 million euros
in 2009. ARO supplies a
complete range of clamps,
machines and welding control
panels for all resistance
welding applications, both
manual and automated. By
bringing in new technologies,
ARO is also able to propose
complete, efficient and
innovative “turnkey” solutions
whose quality is recognized by
all its customers. Through its
nine subsidiaries and
wide network of agents,
ARO is present worldwide
and is therefore close to
its customers wherever
they may be. In 2004, Legris
made an offer to ARO with
the LF 3600 range and our
anti-spark tubing to equip
welding guns that were
to be mounted onto robots.
The interesting part of this
application was that the
doSSiEr

traditional cables could be
used with compression
fittings for instant connection
while respecting the inherent
constraints. PSA retained
this solution for a first project,
that of the “A7” platform,
commercially known as the
“Peugeot 207”, produced by
the sites in Poissy (France),
Trnava (Slovakia), and Madrid
(Spain). 100% of the market
share was entrusted to Legris,
meaning a total of several
thousand fittings and meters
of tubing for this project.
Once this technology had
proven successful, not
only for building up new
installations but also for
equipment maintenance,
it was added in to the
technical specifications for
this automotive manufacturer.
Legris was therefore retained
for the Citroën Picasso C4
(in 2005), the Citroën Jumper/
Peugeot Expert (in 2005),
the Citroën Berlingo-Peugeot
Partner (in 2006), the
Citroën-Picasso C3 (in 2007),
the Peugeot 308 (in 2007),
the new Citroën C3+ with its
DS3 variant (in 2008) and the
Peugeot 3008 and 5008
(in 2008). At the same time,
the Renault Nissan group
also confirmed their choice
for Legris’ new products,
meaning Legris now works
with both French automobile
manufacturers through our
partnership with ARO. In
2006, Legris worked on
the new Kangoo (project
X61), in 2007, on the new
Laguna (project X91),
and in 2008, on the new
Mégane (project X95).
