Zhong Hua TV Magazine welcomes you to our very first edition.

Zhong Hua TV Magazine is a journal of Chinese culture here in Melbourne, a celebration of Chinese life; our gift to the local Chinese community. We aim to bring you a fresh and lively publication, where stories from the diverse local Chinese community are bought to life on the printed page.

There are countless good stories about our community in Melbourne, and together with our weekly TV show on Channel 31, we will strive to create a vehicle for spreading the good news about Chinese Australian life.

We will also keep you updated about what’s coming up on Zhong Hua TV by working closely with the TV production crew to bring you the best new stories from the local community.

Many of you may already know that Zhong Hua TV launched in Melbourne on Channel 31 back in April. Since then we have broadcast many stories about Melbourne based Chinese cultural activities and the numerous Chinese contributions to society.

At Zhong Hua TV we try to create a positive image of the community by using our programme to promote the virtues and values of Chinese culture within the broader Australian context.

And now … we bring you Zhong Hua TV magazine.

《中華電視》雜誌 今天同讀者見面了

《中華電視》是一份給華人生活送來美好信息的雜誌，是一份把生活的喜悅、歡樂、美好送給每一位華人的期刊，是一份為華人生活送上新鮮活潑趣聞的精神家園。

生活在澳大利亞的華人有很多美好的故事，用電視影像把華人美好的故事傳播，是《中華電視》的主旨，也是《中華電視》雜誌的刊登主體。把華人的美好故事拍成電視播放，把華人的美好形像在電視上播放，把華人的美好行為用電視、報刊傳播，是《中華電視》的主張。

《中華電視》在墨爾本C31電視台開播6個月。在這6個月裡《中華電視》播出很多華人社區的美好故事，報導很多華人社區的活動，宣傳很多華人奉獻社會的美德。

A New Voice in Multicultural MediaZhong Hua TV bursts onto the airwaves

On April 18, 2011 a new era in Chinese television was launched at an elaborate ceremony in Melbourne’s famous Chinatown precinct.

With the express aim of creating bilingual content celebrating the diversity of Chinese Australian life, Zhong Hua TV was welcomed to the world with a traditional dragon dance ceremony upstairs at a crowded Dragon Boat Restaurant in Little Bourke Street. Before a packed auditorium of community representatives, politicians and media personalities, Zhong Hua TV’s Executive Producer Ms Su proudly launched Melbourne newest cross cultural TV programme.

“Our goal is not only to create a document of Chinese life in here in Australia but to promote the beauty and strength of Chinese culture,” Ms Su told the crowd. “More than that, however, our vision is to promote the idea that we are all one family and that harmonious co-existence between the various ethnic groups is both desirable and possible.”

Staffed by both Chinese and Australian people, Zhong Hua TV aims to provide content for all nationalities, thereby creating greater Chinese cultural outreach to the broader Australian community. “We want everyone to know how much Chinese people have brought to Australia and how much Chinese culture has contributed to making this country a vibrant and exciting place to live,” Ms Su stated.

中華電視開播慶典

中華電視是華人在澳大利亞開辦的電視節目。這個節目的開辦把華人的各種生活通過影視播放，把華人的故事通過影視播出，讓生活在澳洲的華人自己記錄生命，自己傳承生活。

在中華電視開播酒會的現場，鑼鼓喧天，獅龍起舞，熱鬧非凡。很多嘉賓前來祝賀。

華人在澳大利亞已經有數不清的美好故事，有說不清的美麗佳話，中華電視就是這些美麗、美好記錄。

Whatever it requires, however long it takes and no matter how late - whatever needs to be done, they work hard to get it ready on time. It’s a tough, deadline driven business but the Zhong Hua TV team are always there, (shooting, editing, translating), sometimes working around the clock to bring the Chinese/Australian cultural experience to life on your TV screens.

Now Available In Two Languages

Zhong Hua TV began broadcasting on Channel 31 in April 2011. With its bilingual host it was the first fully Mandarin/English programme to be broadcast in Melbourne.

The first episode was hosted by Skye Chu, a locally born and raised girl fluent in both English and Mandarin. Before making her on screen debut, she had to prepare diligently, making sure that the bilingual content was presented as accurately and sensitively as possible. Indeed, it wasn’t until very late at night that she finally got out of the studio.

With her incredible good looks, Skye was once crowned Miss Melbourne but these days she is studying a Master of Communications at RMIT. Her beauty and her dedication are evident in her on screen performance.

Likewise, Skye Chu’s family have shown similar dedication to Zhong Hua TV. It was they who waited up late to drive her home on that first long night in the studio.

SKYE•中英雙語播出電視節目

中華電視開播就用中英雙語主持。這種主持電視節目的語言方式，在墨爾本的電視台還是首創。

《中華電視》開播這集節目的主持人叫skye。這個女孩是在澳洲長大的，她英語表達準確流暢，說國語也很有澳洲味道。在節目錄製前，她用了一定的時間來做準備。到了開始錄音的時候，卻是費了一番功夫。直到深夜，才走出錄音棚。

我們可以在熒屏上看到主持人的美麗奉獻。其實，為中華電視奉獻的不僅是她自己，還有深夜開車把女孩送來接去的家人。他們也在為中華電視默默付出。

主持人skye是墨爾本一所傳媒專業的大學生，多才多藝，還曾獲得過墨爾本小姐的桂冠。

Meet Our SisterWe all call her Sister Guo Sheng. She is another of Zhong Hua TV’s ever reliable volunteer hosts. She is also our language, culture and education expert.

Guo Sheng has given considerable time and energy to the programme. She volunteers as an occasional host because she is passionate about Chinese culture.

As a senior scholar working in the higher education sector with the Department of Languages at RMIT, she has consulted with numerous media outlets, always looking to promote Chinese cultural diversity and to assist in the development of Chinese language television content here in Australia.

As one of the driving forces behind the annual Chinese Bridge language competition for Victorian university students, she was able to invite us to shoot this year’s competition final.

For that episode we got to witness first hand Australian students testing their Chinese language skills in front of a panel of judges. We interviewed the contestants and the judges and captured the action on the day. After the broadcast of Chinese Bridge on Zhong Hua TV, many more students were inspired to learn Chinese.

In addition, Guo Sheng hosted our ‘Chinese Treasures’ episodes, contacting the interview subjects and arranging the shoot times. In these episodes ordinary Australian families related their personal fascination for Chinese culture and showed off some of their beautiful and treasured Chinese objet d’art. In this way we were able to see just how much Chinese culture, food and art meant to them.

Guo Sheng also invited us to film a senior officer training event in Beijing, In this episode we focused on the study life of sixty-two trainees from all over Australia and New Zealand. This programme helped to add a lot of colour and ‘love’ to our Zhong Hua TV roster.

陳楊國生•義務主持訪談欄目

中華電視的《家藏中華》欄目，有一位義務主持人，她用自己的時間、精力、思想幫助中華電視開辦欄目，擔當義務主持人，熱心傳播中華文化。我們中華電視的人都叫她國生姐姐。

國生姐姐是澳大利亞高等教育領域的資深學者，墨爾本皇家理工大學語言系的系主任。她多年來把幫助各類傳媒，傳播中華文化和多元文化作為己任；更把中華電視的發展記在心上。

維州大學生漢語橋大賽，她請我們現場拍攝澳洲大學生學習中文的各種比賽，採訪參賽學生和主考官，記錄比賽的真實場景，在中華電視播出，吸引很多澳洲學生觀看，激發他們更積極的學習漢語。

國生為中華電視主持《家藏中華》專欄，她預約採訪對象，安排採訪時間，走訪澳洲人的家，請澳洲人講述他們心中的中華文化情結。

國生去中國北京參加國家漢辦的高級官員培訓，也邀請中華電視前去，把62名澳洲和新西蘭的教育官員們在北京的學習生活記錄下來，在澳洲播出。這種愛心幫助給中華電視的節目製作增添很多精彩。

國生是澳洲語言、文化教育的專家，也是我們中華電視的名人主持。

Keeping It In The FamilyHusband & wife star on ZHTV

Soon after taking to airwaves it became apparent that making a weekly TV show needed dedicated professionals to ensure production quality. Shooting, editing, translating, subtitling, sound design and music all require careful attention; and this work is very time-consuming and stressful. With each episode being broadcast three times, the pressure is on to get it right. However, Zhong Hua TV is fortunate to have a team of passionate volunteers, all of whom share the vision of promoting and publicising Chinese culture and cultural events to the broader Melbourne public.

For example, in order to complete an episode about dragon boat racing, volunteer compere Liyan Wang passed her original scripts to her son Yoyo, who is studying in France. He was then able to coach her in the finer points of presentation so that she could deliver the lengthy script with both style and accuracy.

Initially it was Liyan’s husband, Mr Shuang Yi Su, who had volunteered to help his wife with the voice over recording. However, when he realised that the episode would benefit from another voice over, he took the initiative to do it himself. Together, husband and wife dedicated a whole day to recording their voice overs.

Arriving in Australia eight years ago, they both had to work hard to learn English and before Zhong Hua they had never been TV hosts or done any voice over work, in either English or Chinese.

莉艷 雙ㄧ•夫妻同為中華電視當主持 做配音

開播後的中華電視很需要人參加製作。主持、配音、翻譯、字幕、編輯、配樂、、、每週一期，播出3次，這樣的工作是很費時、費心的。製作節目的每一個環節都需要有一定的專業訓練，才能組合成一集電視片。中華電視成了熱心傳播中華文化的公益舞台 ，來幫忙的都是義工。

中華電視製作《龍的傳人》專題片，主持人王莉艷把文稿傳給在法國上學的兒子“Yo-yo”，請兒子教練英語發音，硬是把一篇很長的文稿背了下來。幫助妻子前來錄音的宿雙一先生，看到中華電視很需要配音人員，便主動承擔了《中華藝術》專欄的配音工作。夫妻二人一同來做中華電視的義工。

在12月11日下午8時，請您觀看中華電視，你會看到王莉豔的精彩主持，聽到宿雙一配音的電視節目。

他們來到澳洲8年，從ABC開始學習英語，從未當過電視節目主持和配音，很高興觀眾能同他們一起感受參與的快樂。

Wow! Qi Miao Reporter/Interpreter/Host extraordinaire

Qi Miao was a multi-talented member of the Zhong Hua team. During the hectic weekly production cycle she actively set about learning the many skills required in TV. No matter what was needed she always took the initiative to help out; whether on screen or behind the scenes.

Qi Miao had previously studied broadcasting but had had little opportunity to do TV hosting. However, soon after Zhong Hua TV began broadcasting she joined us as a reporter, translator and host.

She displayed great versatility; editing video, interviewing subjects, hosting various episodes, subtitling and translating. As long as the producers needed her, she was there. Consequently, hers is most heard voice and most seen face on Zhong Hua TV.

齊妙•主動工作練成一個多面手中華電視節目開播時，齊妙來了。齊妙學習過播音，很少機會做電視節目的主持。她主動承擔《華人咨訊》欄目的記者和主持人。上任後第一個預約採訪的單位就是“華聯會”。她很想把華人的社團活動在中華電視上播報。在中華電視開播的酒會上，她還自報欄目，宣傳她主持的《華人咨訊》。

齊妙在中華電視練成了多面手。當編輯，剪輯自己參與拍攝的錄像資料；當記者，現場採訪各種人和事；當主持人，做配音，打字幕，做翻譯，只要製片需要她，她就默默承擔。在中華電視播出的電視片裡，齊妙的音影最多。

12月18日晚上20時的中華電視播出《新聞綜述》節目，由齊妙主持和配音。

2011年4月24日，本迪戈的城市為龍而歡樂。本迪戈的複活節成了中華會的舞龍節。舞動的龍把成千上萬的人心凝聚，期待目睹龍的身影。

大金山的龍美麗多彩，絢爛多姿。在本迪戈，復活節的龍已經成為城市的文化，龍成了本迪戈的象徵。

復活節這天，很多人都穿上唐裝，來到街邊等候龍的出現。心中的期待就像久別重逢的親人即將到來，歡喜、歡樂、歡聚的美好感覺只有見到才能體味。這些歡樂的人們每年都要為龍而舞，每年都從舞龍的歡樂里收穫親情。

人舞龍騰，龍舞人心。舞動的龍給本迪戈舞出歡樂。本迪戈你是龍的故鄉。本迪戈你的名字和龍有不解之緣。龍的家鄉，龍的親人。舞動的龍，舞動的人，舞出的人間美好，舞出的人類美麗。

大金山的龍，人間美好的使者。從人類有史以來，龍就是中華民族的符號。舞動在大金山的

龍，是什麼時候來到這個家的？是什麼人把龍帶到這個家的？這個家好美，這個家好歡樂。

龍在這個家裡生活了多少年，已經沒有人說得清。人們只是知道舞龍很美，只是很歡樂的舞。龍已經成了人類的歡樂使者。

龍在本迪戈的歷史要回到上古時代的神話裡，要回到人類祖先的文明里，要回到人和自然的和諧共生里。

龍來自神的恩慧，龍來自人的行為。人生動龍行，龍生出人心，心生舞動的思念，人舞心中的自然，自心而生的舞動，舞動人心的龍。追思龍的故鄉，我們來到一片故人的墓地。在一個個墓碑上，記載著故人的名字。那些名字都和龍有關，都是龍的子民。

Resurrection of The DragonEaster brings Jinshanback to life

The Victorian regional city of Bendigo is synonymous with the story of Chinese immigration to Australia. Ever since the first Chinese arrived in this state during the 1850s gold rush, Victoria has had its very own Chinese heritage.

Every Easter the city of Bendigo celebrates its Chinese history with a dragon dance and parade. On April 24 this year the Bendigo Easter Festival once again welcomed the big, beautifully coloured dragon Jinshan to its main street. Indeed, so beloved of the locals is the dragon that it has been incorporated into the city’s official emblem. As they do every Easter, Bendigo’s people wore bright costumes as they lined the street waiting for the dragon to appear.

The traditional dragon dance parade is a much loved event on the Bendigo calendar, renewing every year the special bond between the city and the sacred dragon. However, Jinshan’s annual appearance also celebrates the lives of long-lost relatives, as well as the joy of the season’s harvest.A large and beautiful dragon, Jinshan is considered a messenger from history. This ancient Chinese dragon is also a symbol of family history and of the people who first came from China to the goldfields.

It is said that for many years Jinshan has lived amongst his Chinese family, but no one could say exactly where. All anyone knew was that the dragon

was beautiful, and that his dance was a dance of joy. Thus, over time, countless generations have enjoyed taking part in this particular dragon dance.

However, Jinshan not only goes a long way back in Bendigo’s history but to the mythology of ancient times, to the beginnings of civilisation, to when humans lived much more in harmony with nature. Indeed, the dragon is said to have ‘given birth’ to humanity through its dance, which is why the dragon dance ceremony is so important.

Whether it happens in Beijing or Bendigo, the dragon dance celebrates the true ‘heart’ of humankind and unites all people in friendship and joy.

Zhong Hua Cultural FoundationChinese eyes, Aussie spirit

The Zhong Hua Cultural Foundation (Australia) is a not for profit organisation that aims to help spread Chinese culture in Australia. Its members are mainly volunteers who not only produce media but do charitable work in the community and aim to extend the hand of friendship from the Chinese people to the wider Australian community.

Foundation President Ms Su immigrated to Australia 15 years ago. Originally from Shenyang, where she has won many local honours, she was one of the lucky survivors rescued from a train disaster fifty years ago, when severe flooding killed more than 1,500 people.

At the age of twenty she became a train conductor and learnt to serve the people of her home country. This is where she discovered the true value of service and since then has sought to inspire others to discover it for themselves.

Since settling in Melbourne she has tried to bring China and Australia closer together and this was the driving force behind the establishment of the Zhong Hua Cultural Foundation. She invited Chinese Community Service Centre (Victoria) head Liangguo Lin, Secretary-General Yang Yanbo, Vice Chairman Luo Zhang Yuyan, and accountants Chen R to help her get the Foundation up and running.

Right from its inception the Zhong Hua Cultural Foundation has always sought to forge links with other societies and organisations, hoping to promote mutual friendship, Chinese cultural activity, cross-cultural harmony and genuine co-operation across ethnic, language and cultural lines.

澳大利亞中華文化基金會澳大利亞中華文化基金會是一個以中華人為組成人員的非營利文化傳播社會組織，旨在傳播中華文明，服務中華子民。會員信守行善樂人，助危扶弱，幫困濟心，為民禮德的會訓，把人性溝通，愛心 傳遞，友善和諧，真誠互助做行為準則，傳遞中華人民的友好、友善、友情。

澳大利亞中華文化基金會主席宿陲嬰女士是移居澳大利亞15年的華僑。她是一名在中國瀋陽曾經獲得過很多榮譽的女士。在中國鐵路史上第一個被授予“紅旗列車”的次列車，是50年前在洪水中救出1500多名遇難旅客和災民的英雄包車組。宿女士20歲時就是這個紅旗列車的列車長，服務人民的真實生活訓練心靈的真誠，教人真心實意為人服務。來到澳大利亞的宿女士心系中華，成立中華文化基金會，用她真心真情為中華文化的傳播工作。她邀請維多利亞州華人社區服務中心的梁國霖太平紳士做會長，楊衍柏太平紳士做秘書長，羅張玉燕做副主席，陳榮華會計師做財務長，共同為中華文化傳播付出真心真情。

中華文化基金會願同各友好社團、各友愛團體相互聯誼，相互幫助，相互促進，和諧共生，合作共心，和合同行。

Firstly, I’d like to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who has helped to make Zhong Hua TV possible, especially Liang Guolin and the young volunteers who worked round the clock without thinking of fame or fortune and who, in just two short months, made Zhong Hua TV a reality and made it possible for us to be here tonight.

Every minute, every second of what we do here is about creating a Chinese TV programme that not only represents Chinese life here in Australia but promotes a universal humanity.

Chinese people cherish the values of family, charity and love. That joy of life is something that we wish to transmit through our programmes. It is my sincere wish that Zhong Hua TV will reflect something of the true value and meaning of life, that it will present an image of a better life, a hopeful life … a life lived beautifully.

The Soul of A Nation; The Heart of the People Chinese arts find fertile ground Down Under

The Chinese Arts Commission is run by and for Chinese artists living in Australia, who all work together to spread Chinese culture and promote Chinese artforms.

Amongst them is painter Liang Zhenya, who is particularly passionate about the dissemination of Chinese art, saying, “I would love to have more artists join the Chinese Culture Foundation because this organisation is dedicated to helping artists support and promote Chinese culture.”

Meanwhile, Liang Huaxing declares that there is “a great enthusiasm in the organisation to further promote Chinese arts.”

Huaxing first came to live in Australia many years ago and since then he has pursued his passion for sculpture, pottery, calligraphy and seal carving as part of a deeper desire to spread the beauty of Chinese folk art.

With its long history and deeply seated traditions, Chinese art represents a magnificent treasure trove of human creative endeavour, and here in Australia the Chinese Arts Commission works to promote this and, in doing so, to communicate something of the Chinese spirit and convey a better image of China.

As in the West, Chinese art explores the universal themes of love, beauty, the meaning of civilisation and communication. Here in Australia, the Chinese Arts Commission helps local artists to express their own experience of Chinese civilisation, whilst at the same time ensuring that they do not insult the long cherished ancestral traditions of spirituality, art, literature and cultural life.

Here in Melbourne, the Chinese community sincerely welcomes the work of organisations like the Arts Commission in communicating the Chinese experience. At the end of the day, it’s all about giving people to opportunity to experience and participate in the beauty of China’s rich artistic heritage.

Time For a Cuppa?Is tea is the ticket to longevity?

Tea sits at the heart of Chinese culture and family life, and for good reason.

When Zhong Hua TV visited the home of Mrs Chen to record a segment with her she immediately made the film crew feel welcome by offering them tea. This is classic Chinese hospitality.

For Mrs Chen the aroma and flavours of tea say something about what is in the heart. Her exquisite teapot collection, gathered over many years, also reminds her of the people she bought them from.

At one point, she held up a particularly beautiful pot, saying, “I love this one. I also use it for incense.”

For someone who is 87 years old and has raised her own family, Mrs Chen is remarkably healthy and optimistic. To her the reason is clear. She makes sure she has good tea in her life; tea that is light, fresh and “elegant.”

Life, she insists, has always been a ray of light … and a long one at that.

Cup of tea, anyone?

茶香入心中華電視的訪談欄目《家藏中華》在拍攝期間，到訪問的陳媽媽家中，有一個讓人難忘的待客禮節：敬茶。

陳媽媽珍藏的那把茶壺，是自己賣給了人家，又去人家買了回來的心愛之物。她說，這把壺我太喜歡了，用它沏茶，好香。

已經87歲的陳媽媽，很健康，很樂觀，很清悠。

她的生活裡留著茶香。清淡、清新、清雅。

生命本來就是一縷清香，淡淡的來，悠悠地去。

第16屆多元文化節暨佛誕日慶祝活動在墨爾本的聯邦廣場上 舉行，多姿多彩的藝術展現，有效推動了多元文化的發展。

聯邦廣場的中央舞台上表演傳統的舞蹈和音樂。中國的書法藝術表演在慶祝活動引起了很多關注。慶祝活動體現了人們對佛祖的尊重，貫穿了人們之間互相尊重的佛教精神。

佛教這個名字源於單詞“buddhi“，意思是’喚醒’。所以佛教鼓勵“覺醒“的生活。它鼓勵自我感悟以及感悟眾生的精神。

一年一度的佛誕日新生兒洗禮儀式吸引了很多寶寶們。這些可愛的小朋友們接受了來自墨爾本佛光山法師的祝福和洗禮，希望在佛祖的保佑下，擁有幸福平安的生活。

【 佛經閣 】佛事活動剪影 佛經禪語點滴

Earlier this year the 16th Multicultural Festival and Buddha’s birthday celebrations were held in Melbourne’s iconic Federation Square, with colourful art shows, music and food stalls promoting the benefits of Australia’s diverse cultural influences.

Over one weekend in May Federation Square took centre stage for traditional dance and music performances, Chinese calligraphy exhibitions and official ceremonies as part of the Buddha’s birthday celebrations. As befitting the core message of Buddhism, the event focused on mutual respect between people and the value of compassion.

Originating in India, Buddhism, (a name derived from the word ‘buddhi’, meaning ‘wake up’), encourages an ‘awakening’ in life by putting an emphasis not only on self-perception but perception of the self as an essentially spiritual being.

In keeping with the awakening theme, the annual Buddha’s birthday baptism ceremony attracted a host of newborn babies. The children were received and blessed in turn by the Master Guang Shan in the hope of enlisting Buddha’s help for a happy and peaceful life.

A traditional indigenous ‘welcome to country’ ceremony was also performed by local elder ‘Aunty’ Diane before the focal point of the festival, the world peace prayer ceremony was held. This unique celebration emphasised the strength of a having a diverse community and promoted co-operation and cultural exchange as a means to enhance the multi-ethnic nature of Victoria’s population.

The key message on the day was that mutual understanding and communication between the various ethnic and cultural groups, as well as the promotion of a ‘diversity of beliefs’ would help to foster a more harmonious multicultural community.

維多利亞州州長百魯說，華人為昆州和維州水災籌集了很大的一筆捐款，做出了不可磨滅的貢獻，維多利亞州為此感到很自豪。百魯表示，能和這些獲獎華人在一起，感到很驕傲。他用漢語說：你們的愛心溫暖了所有的澳洲人。

From The Heart Of ChinaSalvation Army recognises Chinese community contribution to flood relief

Following this year’s devastating floods in Queensland and Victoria, Melbourne’s Chinese community responded with an outpouring of generosity; so much so that at the annual Salvation Army donation awards ceremony, the Army’s southern commander personally thanked them for their huge contribution to flood relief efforts.

In addition, the Chinese Deputy Consul-General in Melbourne, Huang Fengwen thanked local Chinese and praised them for their commitment to their fellow Victorians.

Premier Ted Baillieu noted that Chinese people across the state rallied to raise a great deal of money to assist in providing help to flood stricken communities. He said that this generosity had left an indelible impression and that the Chinese community could be very proud of its contribution to Victoria. Later, in Chinese, he expressed his appreciation for the warmth and love of local Chinese for all Australians.

2011年4月18日，中華電視在墨爾本的唐人街龍坊酒家舉辦《中華電視》開播慶典，慶祝中華電視開播。維多利亞州州長百魯、中華人民共和國駐墨爾本總領事施偉強為中華電視的開播表示恭賀。

《中華電視》是移民澳大利亞的華僑宿陲嬰女士主辦的華人電視節目，她是來到澳大利亞生活15年的中國人。15年來，宿陲嬰女士在中國和澳洲之間經營公司，經歷各種事件，經受各種經驗，開始進入中華文化傳播的行列，把傳播中華文化作為人生最美好的選擇。

2007年，宿陲嬰就同丈夫劉安興自費駕車行程2萬公里，歷時3個月，從墨爾本出發，穿越中部沙漠，到達金伯利地區，沿著西海岸返回墨爾本，自製了一面奧運宣傳旗，把北京奧運的喜訊傳遞澳洲的中西部地區，還把北京奧運紀念品贈送給澳洲人。宿陲嬰用心和情記錄了這個經歷，出版了散文攝影集《尋夢之旅》，在2008年中國北京奧運會時捐贈給了家鄉83所學校的圖書館

2010年，中國上海世博會上，宿陲嬰兩次在世博會的澳大利亞館贈送《尋夢之旅》，把澳洲華僑的愛心、澳洲人民的友善、澳中人民的友誼傳播。

《中華電視》是宿陲嬰2011年自費創辦的華人電視。宿陲嬰在電視開播慶典酒會上還把他的書《尋夢之旅》捐贈給澳大利亞的學校、圖書館，讓

澳中兩國民間交流的故事傳播。在酒會上維多利亞州多元文化委員會接受了《尋夢之旅》的捐贈，新金山中文圖書館在酒會上還為中華電視送來謝意深重的感激祝福。

同在澳洲生活，共賞中華文化。

中華電視是在澳大利亞的電視頻道播放華人節目，這是澳洲多元文化推出的友誼之花。C31電視臺的民族節目給各個民族交流提供了平臺，中華電視的開播為民族融合、民族交合、民族和合創造了條件。傳播中華文化，傳播中華文明，傳播中華的中華電視為多元文化的融合呈送中華愛心。

中華電視開設3個欄目。《華人生活》是記錄華人在澳洲生活的電視專題節目，《華人咨訊》是交流華人生活資訊的電視訊息節目，《中華藝術》是傳播中華文化藝術的電視交流節目。中華電視2011年4月28日18時開播，播出30分鐘。每星期日20時首播，星期一8時重播。

中華電視用中英文字幕表達電視節目內容，有利於多民族文化交流。中華電視願意把節目奉獻給澳大利亞各個民族，歡迎觀看中華電視。
