OVERVIEW
amil Operations and Maintenance Company, Limited (Zamil O&M), headquartered in Al Khobar, was founded in 1977 by the Al Zamil family of Saudi Arabia. It is a 100% Saudi Company owned by Zamil
Group Holding Company (95%) and Eastern Industrial Investment Co. Ltd. (5%). Zamil O&M was registered as a limited liability company with the Ministry of Commerce, Dammam in October 1977 under Commercial Registration Number 2051003290. With the creation of Zamil O&M’s sister company Zamil Offshore Services Company (ZOSCO) in March 2008, CR No. 2051003290 was absorbed by ZOSCO. Thus, Zamil O&M applied for a new CR No. 2051037917 issued in July 2008 by the Ministry of Commerce. ZOSCO became the old company while Zamil O&M became the new one. Zamil O&M is among the leading providers of operations and maintenance services in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and have executed complex operations and maintenance projects for commercial and government clients throughout the Kingdom even in remote and challenging locations. Our expertise ranges from operation and maintenance of in‐land and off‐shore oil drilling facilities, chemical & petrochemical plants, hospitals, universities, residential camps, airports, airbases, engineering services, utilities (including gas metering stations, power stations, waste water, potable water, sea water cooling system, sewage treatment plant) ‐ to renovations of structures in wood concrete and steel ‐ to plantation of gardens, landscapes and lawns ‐ to runway, roads, fence and barrier repairs ‐ to electrical, mechanical, hydraulic equipment overhauls and repairs ‐ to cleaning and janitorial services ‐ to catering and housing operations – to equipment rental and manpower supply. O&M of Marafiq Utilities in Jubail Marafiq is the Power and Utility Company of Jubail and Yanbu. The utilities comprise mainly of:
Potable water system Seawater cooling system Waste water system
Potable water system consists of production facilities, distribution systems and high and low voltage electrical system. Wastewater system consists of conveyance system, pumping stations, lift stations, treatment plants for sanitary and industrial wastewater, reclaimed water storage tank and pumps up to the battery limits of treatment plants, truck filling depot and HV and LV electrical system. Zamil O&M was fully responsible for the maintenance activities of aforementioned facilities as well as the mobile equipment on normal and emergency basis. Zamil O&M provided operations and maintenance to Marafiq where 323 personnel were deployed. Fully satisfied with the performance of Zamil O&M, MARAFIQ Jubail amended the contract duration from 3 years to 5 years. A follow‐on contract by MARAFIQ for the above‐mentioned scope of work was awarded again to Zamil O&M for another three years with manpower of 451.

O&M of Berry Sales Gas Metering Station: Zamil O&M provided operation and maintenance services to Berri Sales Gas Metering Station of Marafiq in Jubail where 33 personnel were deployed.
O&M of Water Utilities – Potable Water Supply & Sea Water Cooling System In the area of water distribution system and its maintenance, Zamil O&M successfully completed the following projects for Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, and Madinat Al Jubail Al Sinaiyah.

O&M of Potable Water Supply: Zamil O&M operated the Potable Water System project in Jubail Industrial City for Royal Commission. The scope of work included operation and maintenance functions associated with source, treatment, supply, distribution and usage of water for domestic, commercial, industrial and landscape irrigation purposes. The potable water supply to all consumers was maintained always meeting or exceeding the quality requirements of the World Health Organization Guideline (1984). Desalinated, treated and conditioned water was supplied by the Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC). This supply was delivered to the northwest pumping station where it was stored and chlorinated before being pumped to the consumers. A branch line from SWCC also delivered water to the east pumping station where it underwent the same process like the northwest pumping station. The system also included, besides distribution network, a barge mounted desalination plan known as Phase I, which consisted of two HITACHI‐ZOSEN/WESTINGHOUSE single purposes recycle multi‐stage flash seawater evaporators. Each of these had nominal output of 9,600 m3/d of freshwater. Phase II was a shore base desalination plant consisting of two single purpose Multi‐Stage Flash Seawater evaporator with nominal output of 38,400 m3/d freshwater. The system also included three water treatment plants. The first one was an Electro‐dialysis unit of 114 m3/d. The other two were Reverse Osmosis type plants with 3742 m3/d each. All three plants got raw water from 13 water wells. This project was manned with 480 personnel, with most of the major professional disciplines like electrical, civil, chemical, instrumentations, administration, accounting and management. O&M of Seawater Cooling System: Seawater Cooling Project is a unique system in nature where a large industrial complex is supplied with cooling water through one system. Zamil O&M operated this system with full efficiency to the extent that the requirements of all industries both in quantity and quality of the cooling water was maintained 24 hours per day, 7 days a week.

Zamil O&M handled three major critical incidents of which two were complete blackout. However, we were able to maintain the water supply and not a single user was forced to shut down this plant. Normal operating condition was restored in the minimum time. The other was a massive attach by sea fish (ranging from 50 to 100 tons per day) to the drum screen, which was not designed to handle such huge load. Here again, the industries were not affected and we maintained the supply without any interruption. Almost all major system components were maintained, serviced and overhauled by Zamil O&M i.e. all EBAR and PATTERSON pumps, drum screen drive units, all shock/continuous dosing pumps plus feed water pumps, sodium hypochlorite generating units, Royal Commission mobile equipment and delaminated concrete structures in plant and canal. Zamil O&M also carried out specialized services such as the restoration of Gas Turbines, underwater inspection repair and servicing of the main transformer and sub‐station, under the sub‐contract pay item applicable to this contract.

The general scope of work of the above‐mentioned airports was the execution of maintenance services, engineering services, technical training, control systems, cleaning services, communications and electronics which included HVAC, telephone system, power systems, public address system, etc.; operation and maintenance of elevators, motor pool, fire alarm, water supply, sewage, power generation; and grounds and pavements maintenance.
O&M of Royal Saudi Air Force Bases Zamil O&M operated and maintained the Royal Saudi Air Force Airbase at Riyadh from October 1986 to September 1989 and RSAF Tabuk Airbase from September 1986 to April 1993. These air bases had a combined staff of 1,580 covering all the activities associated with supporting a fully operational city and industrial complex housing a population over ten thousand families and overseas workers.

Zamil Groups Industrial complexes also contain extensive power distribution networks which are maintained and serviced by the trained and qualified staff of Zamil O&M. Street Lighting: Zamil Group’s in‐house industrial complexes and supporting facilities contain installed lighting fixtures and street lighting numbering in excess of 20,000 which are a normal "in house" maintenance task of Zamil O&M. Besides, we have also maintained street lights for different clients under six O&M contracts.

General Custodial Maintenance Services: General Custodial Maintenance Services, on a major scale, are also a normal part of Zamil O&M’s activities in relation to their own factories, workshops, offices and living accommodations. Over a number of years, Zamil O&M has operated many major contracts; a large percentage of which has been custodial maintenance services for camps and accommodation barges (each of which accommodated up to 1500 persons) and has performed these to the high standards set by ARAMCO. Zamil O&M’s continued success in this field of activity is evidenced by the renewal of many contracts over the years and our on‐going involvement in this domain.

Zamil O&M has performed the Custodial Maintenance of vacant Camps 1, 2, 4, 5, 13 and part of Camp 12. The scope of work covered decommissioning, preservation of un‐used buildings, facilities, equipment and materials, provision of watch‐keeping services and operations and maintenance of the operating facilities in the camp. Zamil O&M also completed a contract for the management, operation and maintenance of a major 400‐Bed Hospital in Yanbu. Custodial maintenance requirements were to a very high standard as one would expect in a Hospital environment, and we are justifiably proud of our record in meeting these standards.

Many of the above projects required major maintenance of Engineering Services. For example, the shipyard repair constituted a major maintenance engineering service in its own right. Additionally, Zamil Group’s industrial complexes are, by practice, engineering orientated and therefore require these services extensively.
Management and O&M of Hospitals Management of Hospitals Zamil O&M was awarded the contract for management of 180‐bed Al‐Huwaylat Hospital (later transferred to Al Fanateer Hospital) commencing from April 1986 for two years including provision of all the Doctors, Specialists, Administrators, Bio‐Technicians, Nursing Staff and Technicians totaling 498 personnel. The Hospital has modern medical facilities which Zamil O&M managed, operated and maintained to the highest international standards established by the Royal Commission.
Similarly, Zamil O&M wholly managed a 400‐bed newly built hospital in Yanbu for the Royal Commission. This contract started in January 1990 and we completed our third three‐year contract with 985 employees working on this project in April 1999.

Zamil O&M also completely managed 334‐bed King Saud Hospital (Ministry of Health) at Onaizah. About 1,400 employees were working on this project; which commenced in October 1993 and completed in September 1997. Technical Maintenance Services of Hospitals:
Total Technical Maintenance comprising of air conditioning, instrumentation, water‐supply system, civil maintenance, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, electrical, etc. were provided by Zamil O&M at both Yanbu and the Onaizah Hospitals. Zamil O&M also provided full catering and cafeteria services at both of these hospitals.
Zamil O&M executed a 3 year contract for rendering technical maintenance of KKMC Hospital in Hafer Al Baten as well as a 6 year contract for the same service at King Fahd University Hospital in Al Khobar.

The general scope of work at the above‐mentioned hospitals embraced complete management of medical facilities, biomedical facilities, out‐patient clinics, pharmacy, dietary, housekeeping, service facilities, engineering services, and support services.
Catering Services Zamil O&M’s Catering Department currently prepares up to five meals daily for 4,000 personnel throughout the Kingdom; most of Zamil O&M’s food supplies are provided by its sister company, Zamil Food Industries from Jubail, which enables Zamil O&M to have a high level of stock available. Each site has a highly skilled catering management team to support a complete day to day operations and maintenance program including commissaries, medical care centers, laundries, security (banks), barber shops and travel services.

This team employs a large number of catering and food experts from all over the world with extensive experience in culinary specialties.
A comprehensive service support group is provided with experienced caterers and managerial staff from Zamil O&M to help coordinate all the resources into one effective team effort. Zamil O&M Recreation Department supplements a well‐designed recreation and sports program including cinema, TV facilities and equipment for indoor and outdoor sports activities. This department is manned by a highly qualified manager and team of recreation coordinators for each site. They maintain all sports facilities, organize monthly competitions, etc.
Zamil O&M has deployed catering staff on board all forty‐three (43) vessels owned by Zamil O&M plus ten (10) non‐ Zamil O&M vessels currently chartered to Saudi Aramco.
During the Gulf War in 1990‐1991, Zamil O&M sub contracted Arab Supply Trading Company to provide catering services to the U.S. Military personnel stationed at various sites in the Kingdom. In total, we supplied more than 18 million packed hot meals worth of SAR 42 million.
Zamil O&M successfully managed the Lease of Haii Al Sawari Harahs, One to Six, for the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu for 22 years for about SAR 728.66 million.
Manpower Supply Project Zamil O&M successfully attained manpower supply contract with Marafiq‐Saur Operation & Maintenance Company (MASA) and supplied 843 personnel during a period of 3 years.
Personnel Management
Zamil O&M effectively established overseas branches and a network of recruitment agencies in parts of the world where Zamil O&M sources, recruits, screens (trade test) and hires skilled and qualified personnel who are then processed through Zamil O&M Personnel Division in the Kingdom. Since 1978, Zamil O&M has successfully recruited and mobilized over 10,000 staff in its completed projects and ongoing projects throughout the Kingdom.
The overseas branches and agency networks provide staff requirements and also back up support for administration, purchasing, logistics, marketing, liaising and travel. Zamil O&M has a well‐established overseas network and international recruitment agencies for managers, supervisors, engineers, architects, technicians, multi craft‐tradesmen, drivers, janitors, marine officers and crew, etc., of multi‐national origin.
Zamil O&M has expanded its government relations department in Jubail, Riyadh, Jeddah, and Yanbu, which is assigned the task of providing the necessary documents needed in the processing of block visas for qualified personnel.
