Iditarod Yukon Quest

• The Iditarod and the Yukon Quest are the two longest and toughest sled dog races on earth.

• Both take place in Alaska. They can easily be seen as the Giro and the Tour de France of the sled dog sport.

• 2008: I finished the longest and toughest sled dog race on earth without having to send any dog back home. I was the first Iditarod rookie ever to do so.

• 2010: Yukon Quest at a highly competitive level.

Followed by the Iditarod after only two weeks of rest.

Only 20 mushers have ever done both races in one winter.

Training

• From October 2009, 24/7 will be about the dogs.

• Together we’ll train for more than 3000 miles in one of the worlds last unspoiled, untouched, wild areas: Alaska.

• We’ll test ourselves in some 200-300 mile races.

Adventure is a path. Real adventure

self-determined, self-motivated, often risky

forces you to have firsthand encounters with the world. The world the way it is, not the way you imagined it. Your body will collide with

the earth and you will bear witness. This will change you.

Nothing will ever again be black-and-white. Mark Jenkins
