Dear Friends and Supporters of the University Transplant Guild: You are cordially invited to help us celebrate our TENTH anniversary and the third annual Southern Social! I am honored to continue to serve as President of the University Transplant Guild during this historic year. We are thrilled to be celebrating ten years of the University Transplant Guild and helping transplant patients in Mississippi. To honor this achievement, we have made some exciting changes to our Southern Social. This event will consist of a sporting clay shoot in the afternoon and then a celebration immediately following at the newly constructed clubhouse at Providence Hill Farm. The casual evening celebration will include various shoot awards, a silent auction and fabulous food and drink. We have added a “Paint It Southern” class for non-shooters who would like to attend during the shoot and stay for the evening celebration. This exciting new addition will have food and drink and everyone of all skill levels will go home with their own personally painted canvas! Come take some paint instruction in the beautiful setting of Providence Hill Farm. We are ecstatic with the response and support from so many of you in the past few years for this event. We can’t wait to build on our successes and celebrate a decade of making Mississippi a healthier place through transplantation. As you may have seen in the press this year, The University of Mississippi Medical Center Transplant Program continues to grow and do even more exciting things to improve the lives of Mississippians. The Guild continues to provide comfort items to the nearly 200 patients when they are admitted, such as a cozy robe to keep and tablets to borrow for emailing or movie watching. We also continue to provide need based emergency financial assistance to transplant patients to help aid them in paying for rent, prescriptions, gas money or whatever they may need. The Guild is exploring other areas to identify the most need and will continue to strive to meet those needs. We ask that you review the enclosed information and consider making a contribution to help make this a reality for the state’s only transplant program. Your generosity makes a huge impact on our efforts to continue to support a rapidly expanding transplant community. Your support is what allows the Guild to be a part of UMMC’s drive to achieve a healthier Mississippi. We look forward to a fun event with you!
