Receiving AltairGroups announcements

To receive AltairGroup announcements, you are automatically enrolled in Google Groups, unless you have opted out of receiving the emails. You do not need any special accounts, like Gmail. You can use any email address you choose, but emails will be sent to the last email address I was given and can be changed by con-tacting me. Changing your email address during membership renewal does not automatically update Goog-leGroups. You should add [email protected] to your contact list. This is because all email serv-ers have filters that try to minimize email they believe you may not want, or because it doesn't recognize a group email address, or it sees certain words they believe are Spam. You should frequently check all tabs in your Inbox (such as Primary, Promotions) and also any folders you may have (such as Spam and Trash) for announcements you may not have seen.

Another thing to try. If you find an announcement in the Spam folder, highlight it, right click it, and select something that may say “Not Spam” and click it. This is telling your email program that you want the email from altairsports@googlegroups to always go to your inbox.

To send out an announcement to Altair members, just address the email to [email protected] and it will be sent to the members. Also, you may not receive a copy of the announcement you sent out.

You should not respond with “Reply All”, unless you think all members should see your reply.

I hope this helps,

Ted Merydith

Please note: Due to Covid restrictions and space limitations, attendees must be fully vaccinated or if there is a medical reason preventing vaccination, please contact one of the committee members. IF restrictions prevent us from meeting in person on September 19th, you will be notified if the social is rescheduled. You are very important to us, so we will make every attempt to get together in a safe environment. Directions: Go east on MLK Blvd; turn right on Lindley (2nd light after Autzen Stadium); take first left onto Colt (sign points to Covey Lane) and takes you directly to the North Gate of Quail Run gated community. (PLEASE NOTE: Some GPS equipment will lead to the South Gate, which is not left open – follow directions above.) When the street ends, turn right onto Covey Lane. Follow Covey Lane to courtyard #5. Janice’s house is 521 Covey Lane (with the bright yellow wicker chairs on the porch). Please park on Covey Lane as the courtyards are not large enough for parking. If you need additional directions, call Janice at 541-517-6067. If you are coming from Springfield, go west on Centennial, turn left on Lindley (right after crossing over I-5) and follow the above directions.

Please remember that you are important to us!!

We can do this better together!
