Seville

Seville, the stunning capital of Andalusia and the province of Seville, is the artistic, cultural and financial core of southern Spain.

More than two thousand years old, the city boasts a distinct personality and a large, well preserved historical center which reveals the Christian, Jewish, and Moorish influences still harmoniously present in the city today.

The average annual temperature is 65ºF, making it one of the warmest cities in Europe.

At the heart of a growing metropolitan area, Seville´s size and location contribute to its

status as economically strongest in all of Andalusia.

It is the perfect place to undertake a study or professional work experience program, featuring a wealth of historical monuments, university campuses, commercial parks and a variety of establishments across a broad range of sectors.

Come and discover your Sevilla with YES for an experience that will definitely stay with you for a lifetime!

I love Sevilla. It is a clean city with perfect weather, many places to go, good restaurants and interesting sights.

Thu Thuy Dinh-Germany

I liked that in Seville, I could walk to wherever I needed to go. Using the public bicycles was fun and gave me even more options!

Rebecca García-USA

Seville is the most beautiful city, from the parks to the brilliant landscaping and architecture to its diverse culture and rich history. It is the ideal place to be inspired and learn. It´s hard to believe that one city could contain so much historically, artistically, and culturally.

Intensive Language Courses

YES offers language courses for individuals and small groups of students. Levels range from Beginner to Advanced, or A1 to C2 following the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

The amount of Spanish you learn from this experience is incomparable to the classroom back home. I learned more Spanish during the YES program than in two years of my high school Spanish course!

Jacob Burris-USA

The best with the Spanish lessons was that it was a small group and everybody was included and had the time to talk.

Rebecca Wribe-Sweden

Group Study Sessions (Summer)

Ideal for high school students, Group Study is an intensive Spanish language and culture immersion program designed for optimized learning. Students study Language, Culture, History and other topics in Spanish and attend a supplemental discussion forum to facilitate the collective absorption and comprehension of their new international experiences. Skills learned in the practical Spanish course are reinforced by a fun exchange of languague and culture with local students. Classroom hours are complimented by field excursions which bring course content to life.

Students have constant support available via chaperons, YES staff, and an on-site Program Director. Group Leaders may choose to join Open Summer and January Term sessions or tailor a program for any time of year.

Group Study brochures available upon request!

My students got a good balance of classroom instruction and cultural experiences; the excursions brought their classroom lessons to life, while the classes helped them make sense of what they were seeing, hearing, and doing around the city and with their friends. The best part was that I didn’t have to worry about organizing any of it! The YES staff did everything.

Lori Ryser, Group Leader-USA

HomestaysAs part of YES immersion

programs, students stay with a Spanish host family that is carefully screened and selected to provide a supportive environment. Homestays enhance the opportunity for students to learn and use the Spanish language. All candidate families go through a multi-step screening process which begins with the completion of a detailed application and reference check

and ends with a decision as to which family is the best match for each particular student. Program participants generally choose full board (3 meals per day) and share a host family with another student.

Living with a host family allowed me to completely immerse myself in the Spanish culture. It was neat to learn how Spanish households function, and the food was great!

Zackary Cassels-USA

The residence was awesome–our room was nice and we had so much fun!

Emily Featherstone-USA

Student ResidenceThe student residence is

conveniently located in the center of Seville. The installations are quaint, clean, and comfortable.

enjoy more independence, apartments are also available.

YES participants share the apartment with other international students (non-Spaniards) and are responsible for buying and cooking their own meals.
