In the past year, Smith & Wilkinson

has made 122 placements within 76

organizations across 25 states

2019 was a banner year for Smith & Wilkinson. We were fortunate enough to complete 122 critical searches across our five specialty practice areas; we were able to finalize our acquisition of da Vinci Consulting and formally launch Executive Leadership Coaching; we welcomed eight new teammates including four new leadership coaches; and we were able to donate almost $35,000 to worthy charitable organizations. We are truly grateful and humbled at the trust our clients place in us, and we are motivated to continue earning that trust through great service and great results.

As I write this, a few short months later, the world has been plunged into uncertainty, anxiety, and hardship brought about by COVID-19. Millions of us across the country are working from home, millions more are unemployed, and we collectively face the challenge of adapting to a “new normal” without fully understanding what it entails. We applaud the medical community, first responders, frontline retail and grocery employees for their commitment and valor in the face of grave personal risk. We thank our elected officials for their leadership, for making the best decisions they can with limited information in the face of a no-win situation. And we continue to count our blessings that we live in the United States, confident that we will rise to the occasion and hopeful that we use this crisis as a means to creating a more perfect union.

We are doing what we can to help. For 2020, our charitable giving will be focused on support-ing food security for the millions of families who are struggling. We are working with our clients to hone crisis leadership skills, adapt to virtual interviewing and onboarding, and effectively man-age stress and find renewal and energy to remain in the fight. If there is anything we can do to help you or your organization, please reach out. Thank you, Carll Wilkinson

SMITH & WILKINSON LEADERSHIP COACHING

Across industries and organizations, studies show that the most successful leaders are intentional in their practices, and yet fewer than 10% of leaders have a plan to improve their strengths.

Smith & Wilkinson coaches work with new leaders, high potential employees, and seasoned members of the C-suite to build a new foundational understanding of effective leadership practices, a new perspective on interpersonal and organizational awareness, and new leadership methods and behaviors that will result in positive change and demonstrably improved performance. While leadership coaching is intended to upgrade unproductive behaviors and mindsets, it is not a remedial solution for problem employees.

Leadership coaching is a strategic intervention for executives who are ready to improve, one that builds on existing strengths and passions. The Smith & Wilkinson coaching curriculum is accredited through the International Coaching Federation, the governing body and gold- standard of professional coaching.

Coaching clients enjoy access to a library of proprietary materials, including curriculum workbooks, reflective exercises, cognitive exercises, action learning worksheets, and supporting materials including books, articles and video links.

Smith & Wilkinson was so excited that we were able to be a sponsor of the Portland Museum of Art Summer Music Series! Portland Museum of Art hosts a summer music series featuring Portland-based musicians the first Friday of each month in the David E. Shaw and Family Sculpture Park.

PORTLAND MUSEUM OF ARTWe were so honored that we were able to be a sponsor at the Tee Off For 2E Golf Tournament! Each year, friends and family of Gary “2E” Nealey help to put together a golf tournament in order to raise mon-ey in his name and donate it all to Camp Sunshine at Sebago Lake.

T-OFF FOR 2E

For the last 5 years, Smith and Wilkinson has been a sponsor of the Annual Rip it for Rett Golf Tournament! The mission of Rip it for Rett is to raise funds to support critical research and education into Rett Syndrome with the hope of finally finding a cure, and improving lives for thousands of Rett girls and their families.

RETT SYNDROMESmith & Wilkinson was proud to be a sponsor of Ronald McDonald House Charities of Maine and their Gala in October. The RMH works to provide free, comfortable housing to families who need to bring a child to Maine area hospitals for the treatment of life threatening illnesses. One of our partners, Ken, is a part of their marketing committee and we are so happy we could help support them!
