This year so far… • 75 students have 10 or more achievement points. • 27 students have 15 or more achievement points. • 12 students have 20 or more achievement points. • 115 students don’t have a behaviour point.
Punctuality If a student is late: 3 times over a two week period 1 hour detention. 4 times over a two week period 1.5 hour detention. 5 times or more in a two week period 3 hour detention on Saturday morning.

Denominational inspection
• Denominational Inspection takes place on a 5 year cycle. There is no longer a direct link with Section 5/8. There is no correlation with the Ofsted inspection process.
• A new report format will now be used with the following headings: Overall Effectiveness Catholic Life Religious Education Collective Worship
• Inspectors will ensure that teaching and learning is judged as per the Ofsted triangulation model with a wide range of teaching being seen throughout the inspection.

Options • Your son needs to start thinking about the lesson he might
choose. • A mix of subjects is recommended. If you choose three
heavily academic subjects why not also choose a creative subject as well.
• Your son should start having conversations with his teachers about the subjects he is interested in.
• Your son should engage in extra-curricular clubs to learn more about potential choices. For example Business Club Thursday after school.

Careers • There will be opportunities to attend workshops
throughout the year. • Your son should start thinking about careers but not
worry about mapping out his entire life by Christmas. • Have discussions with your son about careers. This could
be prompted by something at school or another stimulus.

students work for exhibitions and exam board
moderation.
Year group set of ‘Stone Cold’ reading books to support
reading across the school and develop exam specific
knowledge.
Contribution to South Africa 2019 rugby tour for the
help and support in running this year’s ‘Fete at the
Fields’.
Continue to fund the music lunchtime clubs for
students to enjoy, leading to performances at
concerts and ensembles.
Where has JFA money been
spent?
Registers App to help improve the efficiency of
taking registers during PE/Games.
New sets of cooking knives for Food Technology.
Licences for new software to help aid the
development of Computer Science in the school.
Visualizers used to show live marking and give exam
technique feedback directly via the interactive whiteboards.
Water baths to help the Science department undertake
controlled experiments. .
New PC’s for the Sports department as numbers
increase in the BTEC course.
Minibus tests which are vital for allowing students to
undertake field work in Geography, sporting fixtures
and retreats.
New textbooks for Religious Education and Science, with
new sets of reading books for English.
New storage solutions to ensure we continued to store
chemicals safely.
3D printers for DT to allow for the increase in exam focus
on model making.
Sheet metal press to help students whilst undertaking metal
work in DT.
