XVIII CONVOCATION PROGRAMME

8.40 am Candidates receiving their degrees in person shall arrive at the Convocation venue and take their seats.

9:00 am All invitees shall be seated.

9:35 am The members of the University Authorities shall assemble outside the venue in the following processional order:-

� The Registrar

� The Court

� The Academic Council

� The Executive Council

� The Planning Board

� The Boards of Schools

� The Deans of Schools

� The Finance Officer

� The Controller of Examinations

� The Pro Vice-Chancellors

� The Guest of Honour

� The Chief Guest

� The Vice-Chancellor

9:50 am The Vice-Chancellor, the Guest of Honour and the Chief Guest shall arrive and shall be received by the Deans, the Registrar, the Finance Officer and the Controller of Examinations. They shall then join the procession.

9:55 am The procession will arrive at the venue.

All present shall stand up as the procession enters and shall remain standing till the Vice-Chancellor, the Guest of Honour, the Chief Guest and other dignitaries have taken their seats.

10:00 am National song (All present shall stand up)

10:04 am Having obtained the permission of the Vice-Chancellor, the Registrar will say:

Should there arise in your mind doubts about any act or conduct, you should follow what the learned and the wise, who have sound judgement, who are active but detached, virtuous but not greedy and not harsh in words do under similar circumstances.

While dealing with unfounded allegation against others, you should seek advice of the learned and the wise who have sound judgment, who are active but detached, virtuous but not greedy and not harsh in words.

This is the commandment. This is the teaching. This is the true purport of the ancient treatise of knowledge. This is the exhortation. Thus should you observe. Thus indeed this should be observed.
