Writing A (UN) Scientific Paper in Medicine

Today it is pride to claim that a particular Doctor/Teacher has

published manypapers, people are elated to be introduced on the

public stages with so many contributions/ papers to the growth of

Medicine and Science. I have several chances to observe the

bitter truth about many self-acclaimed researchers, writers,

proving to beGhost writers. Many times they have not eventouched a test tube, in reality any patient or they do not know

what the subordinates are doing but claim as great researchers.

Their name is just famous. Their illusionary ideas are converted

into papers which to the editorial board look as great ideas, and

they request the authors to write many more papers. This is what

Plagiarism, which literary means to copy take and use some

other persons thoughts, writings, and inventions, literary orartistic work and pass it on as ones. The matter relating to either

of these fields are taken and borrowed dishonestly and

wrongfully. The readers are deceived into believing that the work

is original and written by them. In general it can be summed up

that plagiarism is plain theft and cheating.There are different

forms of corruption and one of them is plagiarism. In fact,

plagiarism has been there since centuries and with the passage

of time the ways of plagiarism are increasing.The main cause of

plagiarism is that in this era of specialization getting admission in

reputable academic institution of learning especially higher

learning is getting difficult and tough, proving to others as genius

people in the narrow circumstances they work. The easy access

to the internet, reputed journals, and the knowhow of its use has

spread plagiarism to alarming levels. Copying and pasting has

gained popularity for it is the easy way out. The Medical Council

of India encouragesthe teachers who have published papersto thehigher rank by promoting. Recently there is an increase of

plagiarism when the status of many universities was questioned

by UGC. Old case sheets, own ideas of some senior teachers

were converted into scientific publications, many unscientific and

unethical teachers became great publishers. For many editorial

board members the style of writingisimportant than content. I am

confident few people read these unethical publications and

certainly a wise man will never practice these ideas, however this

pseudo medicine created by enthusiastic and academic deviants

in creating Academic dust, in the Universities and Medical

Colleges. Recently Medical Council of India has made mandatory

to publish the papers, by the post graduate students joined in

2010. So the habit of plagiarism is cultivated in the early stages

as a student before he completes his post-graduation, and with

the passage of time he becomes an expert manipulatingwriter/Doctor. In the era of privatization many students lack basic

knowledge to deal with common health problems which are so

common in our country, leave alone an emergency situations, and

doing research?If everybody writes and publishes image of our

Indian Medical Profession will further go down. I feel it is time for

Medical Council of India to review this decision to make everyone

a scientific publisher and better can give weightage of few marksif someone has published an academic article with a sense of

scientific spirit. The environment is already filled with synthetic

garbage, and with regulatory compulsions on every post

graduate student to publish paperswill create more Academic

garbage. Many articles from developing countries are blindly

rejected by the well cited Journals because the original sin we

have committedin the past, still hunts us. I am not just praising

the developed countries think about paper published in TheLancet on Measles just an iceberg of deviant and manipulated

results misguiding humanity. The Lancet medical journal, linking

MMR with autism, it triggered a slump in immunization levels and

led to outbreaks of infectious disease. But the key finding was a

sham.The trend setters and many Universities are creating their

own journals, so they can dump whatever they wish to? Is there

any one to believe?Or check. I sincerely feel one should be

familiar with articles published by World Association of Medical

Editors (WAME)to follow the guidelines to publish a Medical

Paper. In the past it was said publish or perish. Our wrong

medical papers can perish the Society.
