    There is no doubt that art classes make an equal contribution to the growth of a child

    compared to other subjects. By studying art courses, children may enrich their souls

    and build up their spiritual life. My younger sister, a twelfth grade student, once told

    me that drawing classes help her not only improve skills but also perceive life from

    different angles, which colours her life. In contrast, other subjects such as computer

    science and economics may lead more directly to a position of employment, but life

    would be meaningless if people spent all their time working.

    Despite the above arguments, I believe that art subjects should be made optional

    rather than compulsory. There are those who are not interested in the arts, and

    forcing them to study these classes merely results in an unnecessary pressure on

    learners and a waste of resources that may otherwise be available to teach other

    subjects. For instance, in an average class of 30, there are statistically at least one or

    two students who have no talent for painting and fail to produce a nice work of art.

    This causes their level of stress to rise especially when it comes to a formal exam.

    In conclusion, I do not believe that high school students should be required to attend

    art classes although they are as crucial as other core subjects for the development of

    children.

    TOPIC: Children educating is expensive. In some countries, the government pay

    partly or all education fees. Do the advantages outweigh the

    disadvantages?

    Step 1:

    Advantages (benefits, positive impacts):

    More children -> school: reduce illiteracy rates: better future workforce, more chance

    to find a job -> reduce crime rate.

    Reduce financial pressure for some families: better nutrition and health care for

    children.

    Disadvantages (drawbacks, potential problems, negative consequences):

    National budget not enough to spend on other sectors: infrastructure and medical

    system -> hold the economy back from development.

    Some taxpayers may feel unfair because they do not have children, or those living

    alone.

    Step 2:

    Advantages (benefits, positive impacts): There are a number of positive impacts of providing

    free education for children.

    More children -> school: reduce illiteracy rates: better future workforce, more chance

    to find a job -> reduce crime rate.

    o Firstly, this will encourage more children to go to school and eventually

    reduce illiteracy rate. When children grow up, they will be the future workforce

    of their country and contribute to the economic growth.

    Reduce financial pressure for some families: better nutrition and health care for

    children.

    o Secondly, governmental funding for children education will relieve financial

    burdens for parents, so they have more money to spend on better nutrition

    and health care for children.

    Disadvantages (drawbacks, potential problems, negative consequences): When

    governments subsidise tuition fees for children, several problems can be anticipated.

    National budget not enough to spend on other sectors: infrastructure and medical

    system -> hold the economy back from development. Raise living standards.

    o Primarily, other important sectors of the economy, such as infrastructure and

    agriculture, will be insufficient invested in. As a result, the economy will be

    held back from development.

    Some taxpayers may feel unfair because they do not have children, or those living

    alone.

    o Furthermore, some taxpayers, especially those who live alone or who are

    childless, may feel unfair because part of their money is paid for other

    peoples children.

    Step 3:

    o In many countries, education fees for children are partly or totally supported

    by the government. While this may cause some potential problems, I believe

    that the benefits are greater.

    o On the one hand, there are several advantages of

    o In conclusion, although spending the national budget on the education of

    children may have potential problems, I believe that its advantages outweigh

    the disadvantages.

    Step 4:

    In many countries, education fees for children are partly or fully supported by the

    benefits are greater.

    There are a number of positive impacts when the government provides some

    financial support for childrens education. Firstly, the governmental subsidy will

    encourage more children to go to school. It is true that children are the future of a

    country, so the greater investment we make in their education, the better workforce

    we have in future, which is the precursor of economic growth. Secondly,

    governmental funding for educating children will relieve some financial burdens

    falling on parents, so they have more money to spend on better nutrition and health

    care for children than before.

    On the other hand, when the tuition fees for educating children are subsidised by the

    authority, several problems can be anticipated. The main disadvantage of this would

    be that some important sectors of the economy, such as infrastructure and

    agriculture, will be insufficiently invested in; as a consequence, the economy will be

    held back from development. Another drawback is that some taxpayers, especially

    those who live alone or who are childless, may feel unfair because part of their

    money is paid to educate other peoples children. However, these negative

    consequences can be negated by the contributions that children make to their

    countries when they grow older.

    In conclusion, although spending the national budget on the education of children

    may have potential problems, I believe that its advantages outweigh the

    disadvantages.
