When we write about a place we use sentences such as:

Note: ‘is / are’ come from the verb ‘to be’.‘is’ is used for singular nouns (e.g. There is a camel market [1] )‘are’ is used for plural nouns (e.g. There are many malls. [more than 1 mall] )
