WelcomeWe are very glad to have you worshiping our gracious God with us today.

Flowers The sanctuary flowers are given today to the glory of God.

To Our Guests,We especially welcome you today! More information about our church is available on our website at firstpresaugusta.org.

Spiritual CareIf you would like to speak to someone about what it means to know Jesus Christ or you have any spiritual need or question, please use one of the prayer cards in the pew rack to contact one of our pastors. Our church elders are also available to speak with you. An elder will be standing next to the pastor following the service.

Children’s Check-inWe are committed to the highest level of protection possible for the children placed in our care on Sundays and at all church events. For this reason, we require parents of newborns through fifth grade children to check in their children before they go to the nursery, Sunday School, Catechism, Children’s Church or any other children’s activity. Several kiosks are available in the Welcome Center. The process is quick and easy, and volunteers are available if you need assistance checking in.

Children’s WorshipWe offer a specially designed program for children in pre-k through fourth grade during the morning services. A leader will escort children from the sanctuary to their classrooms during the hymn of preparation. Parents are welcome to accompany them to observe where to pick them up after the service. Parents of children in pre-k through second grade are asked to pick up their children following Sunday School or the 11 a.m. worship service.

Nursery Nurseries are provided for infants and toddlers during the worship services and Sunday School. We also provide a Mother/Infant Room located beside Nursery 1 which is equipped with live video feed of the worship services. Ushers are available to direct you.

Additional Seating Additional seating for morning and evening worship services is available each week in St. Andrew’s Hall.

As stewards of God’s resources, we try not to print an excess of bulletins. We invite you to bring this bulletin with you when you return for the evening service.

†The Call to Worship ........................................................................Philippians 2:9-11

God has highly exalted Jesus and bestowed on him the name that is above every name,

So that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

The Lord be with you.And with your spirit.Let us worship God!

O rest in the Lord, wait patiently for him, And he shall give thee thy heart’s desires.Commit thy way unto him, and trust in him;And fret not thyself because of evildoers.

The Response—Angels, from the Realms of Glory ........................... Regent Square(Sung by all)All creation, join in praisingGod, the Father, Spirit, Son,Evermore your voices raisingTo the eternal Three in One.Come and worship, Come and WorshipWorship Christ, our Savior King.

I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.

I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended into hell.* The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic** church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

†The Pastoral Prayer and The Lord’s PrayerOur Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. Amen.

The Assurance of Pardoning Grace ................................................. Hebrews 4:15-16For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

Loving King, our thoughts and motives cannot be hidden from your sight. Our self-pity and pride, our idolatry and sloth, our anger and envy are laid bare before your eyes and ours. Forgive us for remaining silent and for shrinking back in fear when we should be speaking up for righteousness and truth. We regret the times we have denied our Eternal Savior because we were afraid of men. We regret the times we have gone along with the crowd because we were afraid of what standing for Christ would cost us. We humble ourselves before you and ask that you cover us in the blood of Christ and grant us courage to proudly identify ourselves as followers of Jesus. Renew us in the grace and strength of your Holy Spirit, for the sake of Jesus Christ your Son, our Savior. Amen.

The Offertory—I Need Thee Every Hour .........................................arr. Sally DeFord

Words: Annie Hawkes | Music: Robert Lowry | Arranged: Sally DeFord | ©2013 Sally DeFord

I need thee every hour, most gracious Lord;No tender voice like thine can peace afford.

I need thee, O I need thee, every hour I need thee;O bless me now my Savior, I come to thee.

I need thee every hour, stay thou near by,Temptations lose their power when thou art nigh.

I need thee every hour in joy or pain,Come quickly and abide or life is vain.

I need thee every hour, most Holy One,O make me thine indeed, thou Blessed Son!

The Shorter Catechism, Question 60:

Q. How do we keep the Sabbath holy?

A. We keep the Sabbath holy by resting the whole day from worldly affairs or recreations, even ones that are lawful on other days. Except for necessary works or acts of mercy we should spend all our time publicly and privately worshiping God.
