• Inaugural Games held in 1985 in San Jose, California

• 2009 Vancouver, 2011 NYC, 2013 Belfast

• Future hosts - Montreal in 2017 and China in 2019

• Hosted by Fairfax County in 2015

Lessons Learned

PUBLIC HEALTH

- Excellent regional ESF-8 participation

- Great partnership with OEM, FRD, PD, etc.

- Test new situational awareness platform (HSIN)

- Challenges working with WPFG Medical

- Reluctance to use existing patient tracking system

- Challenges collecting patient numbers

- Weak volunteer management system

- Lack of core planning/steering committee

- No true after-action process
