Estimated Costs of Projects Covering

the "three year period 19^3 to 1 9 ^

To facilitate the study and examination of the Director-General'8

proposed programme and budget estimates for 1955 in relation to the programmes

initiated and completed in the two previous years, the attached schedule has

been prepared.

The column headings in this presentation are self-explanatory. It will

be noted that the figures under "1955 Estimates" represent :

(a) the estimated costs of projects already in operation or planned

to commence in 195^， projected into 1955， and

(b) the estimated costs of new projects to start in 1955»

The latter estimates have been prepared on the basis of requests from

Governments, endorsed at Eegional Committee meetings and examined and accepted

by the Director-General as conforming to the General Programme of Work for a

Specific Period as established by the Board1

and confirmed, by the Fifth World 2

Health Assembly.

In all cases where an asterisk appears in the tables, the amounts shown

represent individual fellowships, which for the purposes of this analysis have

been treated as new projects.
