Project objectivesProject objectives Improve the quality of education in rural

schools by:– Improving literacy skills—the basis for the

acquisition of other skills—through the provision of quality learning materials

– Improving teachers’ skills through the provision of teacher training and the promotion of professional networks

– Improving the information base for monitoring quality and efficiency by supporting evaluation capacity in education

READ Component 1: READ Component 1: Improving teaching and learning in Improving teaching and learning in rural schoolsrural schoolsSubcomponent 1.1 1-5 classrooms in 383 soum and bagh schools

will receive grade-specific classroom libraries with160 local and international titles.

Small group of schools will receive technology to access children’s digital library.

Subcomponent 1.2 Professional development to all grade 1-5

teachers in soum and bagh schools. Networks of teachers within school clusters
