The security of your funds is important to us

At HSBC, we are committed to the open and transparent management of your investment. We’d, therefore, like to outline what you can expect when investing with HSBC, so you are familiar with the process and can be confident with the security of your funds.

Transferring funds to set up an initial portfolio

Your initial portfolio can be set up using Direct Debit or a cheque payable to the 3rd party product provider.

New account confirmation and online access

Once your investment or super account has been opened and your funds invested you can expect to receive:

A confirmation from HSBC.

For third party products, a Welcome Pack from your product provider that will include details of how to register for online access. You should set up your online access as soon as possible so that you can easily check on your investment set up and progress over time.

Making ongoing investments

You can make additional contributions to your account using BPAY®, Direct Debit or cheque.

Staying up to date

To keep you informed about your portfolios, you will receive regular updates from the third party product provider. It is important you check these because they will include any withdrawals and deposits, information about your current investment position and provide a reminder of any upcoming investments maturing.

You will also receive regular updates from your Financial Planner if you sign up to our ongoing service package.

Quick checklist to help protect your funds

Always check any pre-filled forms your Financial Planner may have prepared for you to ensure all of your details are correct.

Never sign a blank form or cheque.

We will never ask you to fill in a telegraphic transfer form to fund your portfolio.

Cheques for initial investments should be made payable to the 3rd party product provider.

Remember to set up your online access so you can regularly review your portfolio.

Never make a cheque payable to an individual for investment fees or contributions.
