SYMP – Sewa Youth Mentorship Program

• Development of Sewa Youth Clubs at Hastings and West View high schools, where Bhutanese kids are going to school (in progress)

Bhutanese Community Festivals • Earlier phase – Bhutanese

people participated in Indian Festivals and we put a lot of energy in giving rides

• Now, they have started celebrating their own festivals

• Leadership has evolved but we until have had to support financially

internship conducted on a local level

• Reaches out to Houston youth to promote service and awareness

• GIH interns initiated 2009’s most successful Sewa projects

• Community Cloth and Children’s Art Class

women to produce and sell native crafts

• A Sewa-led consortium between Interfaith Ministries, the Somali Bantu Community, the Bhutanse-Nepali Community and individual volunteers

• Supports Somali-Bantu, Karenni-Burmese and Bhutanese women
