May 2013 Release Highlights

Work smarter with innovations from SuccessFactorsIn the May 2013 release, we’re delivering innovations across all of our HCM pillars to help you build a firm

foundation of global workforce processes that will increase employee engagement and improve

productivity. The second release of 2013 features enhancements to SuccessFactors Learning, Employee

Central, and SAP Jam. We’ve also redesigned our mobile app, introduced new onboarding capabilities,

and made substantial updates across the SuccessFactors BizX Suite—all wrapped together with a world-

class user experience that’s engaging, intuitive, and relevant.

Here are some highlights:• Build an end-to-end core HR platform by using predefined integrations between Employee Central and

leading HR software vendors. 

• Help your new hires hit the ground running with SuccessFactors Onboarding, an exciting new product that helps turn new hires into engaged and productive employees.

• Improve employee engagement and see faster time to learning completion with the new SuccessFactors Learning user experience.

We’ve taken the same design principles used in the BizX home page and applied them to the iPad app to deliver a richer, more relevant, and engaging user experience. You can now see a live SAP Jam feed, send a message, comment on a post, view your to-do list, approve requests, and receive SuccessFactors Headlines insights directly from the home page. And, home page content and actions are personalized based on the access permissions of the individual, delivering a unique and relevant user experience. The app also includes features designed specifically for the iPad, such as reorganization planning, time off, and the ability to make on-screen annotations and share them with others. Download the app and start using it today!

Performance & Goals: More access = More action Goal Management with Mobile Goals. With the May release, Goal Management customers can access goals anytime, anywhere from their iPhone. Employees can now view their goals, descriptions, and details, as well as update their goal status and percentage complete. Managers can view the goal plans of their direct reports and receive alerts when a goal has been updated. Mobile Goals helps managers and employees become more engaged—and helps ensure company objectives are met.

 

Introducing SuccessFactors OnboardingOnboarding is a critical part of a strategic talent management program that is often overlooked or poorly handled. Loads of paperwork, missed details, and busy managers often fail to make new hires feel welcome. With the May release, SuccessFactors announces the

launch of SuccessFactors Onboarding—a solution that makes the process easy, automatic, and personal and that lays the foundation for productive and engaged employees.

Employee Central: Expanded globalization and new advanced reporting capabilitiesSuccessFactors Employee Central’s globalization capabilities continue to expand with the May release to include localization templates for 29 countries (51 dedicated country versions in total). In addition, income tax declaration forms are now available in India.

Global payroll capabilities and functionality expand to support payroll processing in Japan and Russia, bringing the total to 22 countries now supported by Employee Central Payroll.

Employee Central Payroll customers based in the United States will benefit from a new integration to BSI eForms Factory. With this out-of-the-box solution, employees will be presented the relevant tax withholdings forms, and the management of payroll tax forms will be automated, all while ensuring company compliance with U.S. tax laws.

The May release of Employee Central also features reorganization planning. Available on the iPad, this tool gives managers the ability to quickly and easily plan for future organizational changes. Utilizing simple drag-and-drop gestures, managers can simulate reorganization scenarios and see the effects of those changes on the organi-zation without committing those changes to the live system until the plan is complete.

Advanced reporting capabilities are now available in Employee Central and feature out-of-the-box predefined lists and analytical reports, including 19 international reports and 23 country-specific reports. With the Online

Report Designer, these reports can easily be adapted to meet specific user queries, and they can be customized, exported, and formatted in a variety of presentation-ready styles.

Employee Central time off capabilities have expanded with the May release, giving both managers and employ-ees visibility into the time off team calendar. When approving time off requests, managers can now quickly determine if they will have enough coverage to support the business at any given time.

Additionally, the Employee Central partner ecosystem has expanded to include integrations with Kronos for time and labor, and with Aon-Hewitt for benefits administration.

Learning: A new user experience that takes learning (and your business) to the next level

New user experience.

SuccessFactors Learning customers now benefit from a new, incredibly intuitive and engaging interface. Based on the same design principles as the SuccessFactors home page, and as part of our continuing commitment to provide a consumer-grade user experience, the new Learning home page includes configurable content tiles with thumbnail images and course descriptions. It also includes a combined catalog search with recommended and featured courses (all in one place) to encourage self-development.

Learning administration enhancements. Learning administrators will benefit from a number of enhancements, including an updated user experience to the Items Detail and Curriculum Details pages, which now include the ability to show individual fields, arrange courses by date, show items that are part of a curriculum, or display by priority.

Recruiting: Increase employee engagement while improving your quality of hires With employee referrals, you can increase employee morale and the quality of candidates in the talent pipeline. Social referrals make it easier for employees to match their professional network to the current needs of the company and refer qualified candidates to open posi-tions. Leveraging LinkedIn and Facebook profiles, employees can match contacts to jobs, jobs to contacts, refer a contact to a recruiter, track progress, and deter-mine how much money in referral bonuses they’ve earned. It’s a win-win scenario: recruiters get access to a new pool of qualified candidates, and employees feel a sense of ownership and validation.

Integration between SuccessFactors Recruiting and on-premise SAP HCM is now available through the SAP Service Marketplace. Through this integration, a new candidate or an internal candidate selected to fill a requisi-tion, is sent from SuccessFactors Recruiting to on-premise SAP HCM to create or update an employee record.

SAP Jam: Gamification, expanded adminis-tration capabilities, and SAP Jam APIsGamification. Motivate and incentivize your employees with gamification. Increase revenue via sales competitions, motivate employees to take more training to become experts, or encourage customer support agents to more quickly address service tickets through competitive leaderboards. With SAP Jam, you can now take advantage of third-party gamification solutions to make use of point systems, status levels or classes, basing, virtual goods, leaderboards, or competitions that engage employees and motivate actions that drive business results.

Administration capabilities. In the May release, SAP Jam introduces features that will help streamline system administration and management. With the new content moderation capabilities, administrators can flag content as abuse or spam, approve content for posting in a single step, and monitor storage and open group usage. Additionally, new logging and auditing capabilities provide better visibility into system events, support corporate compliance needs, and enable forensic investigation.

SAP Jam APIs. Leverage business records in SAP Jam to solve issues faster. With the new SAP Jam application programming interfaces (APIs), you can take advantage of business records and objects from business applica-tions in SAP Jam.  Bring your goals from the SuccessFactors BizX platform directly into a SAP Jam group to enable ongoing development with your boss to ensure you exceed expectations.  Or, bring invoice summaries from the SAP Business Suite into SAP Jam to manage exceptions or track status and approvals. With SAP Jam APIs, you can extend your existing technology investments with social collaboration.
