Standard Supplemental The text below is a standard supplemental to the programme of works shown on page 2 that forms this update regarding construction progress. Construction Strategy The initial phases of construction will consist of footway renewal and kerb works. Other elements of the scheme will follow, which will consist of street furniture renewal, new signage (including “Legible London”), SUDS (Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems), street lighting upgrade, new trees and tree pits and all special features. All of these elements will be completed on an “area by area” basis as opposed to rolling out each element globally throughout the scheme. Carriageway resurfacing will be the last element of the scheme to be implemented. Bus Stops will be temporarily closed as construction progresses to the areas shown on page 2. There will be several phases of construction that will require 2-way temporary traffic lights on the High Road. Traffic will be severely disrupted during these times. Strategy for waste management Residential waste is usually deposited on the footway on the High Road. Our contractor will provide gangways to each doorway (business and resident) to allow entry/exit from premises. Residents should leave their waste at the carriageway end of these gangways (on the footway, within and near to the barriers), which will allow rubbish to be collected as usual.

Businesses with their own individual contracts for waste disposal will need to inform their contractor of construction to allow preparation for their continued management of waste disposal.

Provision of access to shops/businesses/restaurants/residential There will be disruption during the construction period; and we will try our best to keep this to a minimum. Access to business will be maintained for the majority of the construction period, but there will be short durations when access will be fully blocked. Our contractor will individually liaise with properties to agree the most convenient time for this to occur. Disabled access Access will be maintained to residences / businesses. A minimum width walkway of 1.2m will be maintained at all times. Working Hours

Working hours constraints No construction works will be undertaken during the Christmas Embargo, which is from 1 December 2014 to 4 January 2015.
