DAY 10 Friday 3 April 2020 At sea

DAY 1 1 Saturday 4 April 2020 At seaA free day to enjoy the facilities of the ship. This afternoon we will have a fun game of Trivial Pursuit with prizes for the winners.

DAY 12 Sunday 5 April 2020 Luxor, Egypt

We travel to Luxor, known as the world’s largest outdoor museum for an exciting sightseeing tour. Luxor grew out of the ruins of Thebes, once the capital of Ancient Egypt’s New Kingdom. The monumental temples of Luxor were at the centre of Ancient Egyptian religion. We visit the final resting place of Hatshepsut, Egypt’s first woman pharaoh, and stroll the shady arcades of her stunning temple, which is set at the base of soaring cliffs. And the famed Valley of the Kings, resting place of the pharaohs. The tombs of the pharaohs were placed deep in the Theban Hills from 1,500 BC to stop robbers stealing priceless treasures. We also visit the celebrated tomb of Tutankhamen, which was discovered intact in 1922 by Howard Carter. The burial chamber, whose walls depict the Opening of the Mouth ceremony, is unique in that it still contains the king’s body inside the gilded coffin. We overnight at a hotel in Luxor.

DAY 13 Monday 6 April 2020 Luxor, EgyptThis morning we first visit Karnak Temple, a place that is still capable of overshadowing many of the wonders of the modern world. It covers about 81 hectares 1.5km by 0.8km. The area of the sacred enclosure of Amon alone is 61 acres and would hold ten average European cathedrals. The great temple at the heart of Karnak is so big, St Peter’s, Milan and Notre Dame Cathedrals could be lost within its walls. The Hypostyle hall at 5,000 square metre with its 134 columns is still the largest room of any religious building in the world. Follow dramatic stories of ancient life on intricate friezes, visit a sacred, ceremonial lake and walk between aisles of fierce sphinxes that guard the temple entrance. Later, we make our way back to the ship.

DAY 14 Tuesday 7 April 2020 Jerusalem, IsraelToday we will enjoy one of the most inspiring cities in the world, renowned for its historical significance, spiritual symbolism and visual splendour – Jerusalem. We travel by coach first to the Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth and the biblical land of Lot and his family, and also known for its salty water. We continue to Jerusalem and for a view at Mount of Olives. Our excursion will continue to Kidron Valley to reach Zion Gate. Our tour of Jerusalem will include the visit of the Last Supper Church, a visit to the Western Wall and walk along the Via Dolorosa (Way of Sorrow), which is the highlight of a visit to Jerusalem. This walk follows the route of Jesus Christ after his condemnation as he bears his cross towards execution at Calvary. You will also walk through the Armenian
