Boston College: Boston College concluded the 2011 calendar year with a split against No. 6 Mercyhurst, 4-2 and 2-3 (OT)…The Eagles had not defeated the Lakers since 2001 and moved to 2-5-0 in the all-time series…BC is now 6-3 this season against ranked teams…The Eagles enter the December break at 13-5-1 and had never won 13 games prior to the mid-season intermission…Alex Carpenter’s 23 points (12g, 11a) are fifth most in the nation by a rookie…Jackie Young leads all WHEA defensemen with 12 points (5g, 7a)…BC returns to play on Thursday, Jan. 5 versus St. Lawrence, with puck drop slated for 7 p.m. in Matthews Arena.

Boston University: BU enters the winter break with a 10-9-1 overall record and a 5-4-0 conference mark…The Terriers have killed off the last 24 power plays it has faced against league opponents…The BU penalty kill is second in the nation (.898), and has killed off 23 more penalties than Clarkson, the number one PK in the NCAA (.906)…Kayla Tutino leads the Terriers with 11 goals…Tutino is the ninth BU rookie in program history to notch at least 10 goals…Tutino also has a goal in each of the last two contests…Senior captain Jenn Wakefield has an assist in each of the last three games…The Terriers have played 10 games against ranked opponents this year, but only three have been at home.

University of Connecticut: Nicole Paniccia’s .934 save percentage is second best among league netminders.

University of Maine: The University of Maine women’s ice hockey team went 1-0-1 in their two-game series against Union College over the weekend. Brit-tany Dougherty assisted on three of four goals scored while goalie Kylie Smith improved her season record to 3-1-3, making 52 saves. Dawn Sullivan grabbed the game winning goal for the Black Bears in Friday’s game while Jennifer More notched the game tying goal on Saturday.

University of New Hampshire: UNH’s five goals vs. Dartmouth (Dec. 11) was the team’s highest total since also scoring five times in the 5-4 overtime win at Dartmouth (Nov. 6)… Sunday’s game … UNH scored a power-play goal in five consecutive games spanning Nov. 26 to Dec. 9 and the ‘Cats went 6-for-23 in that time… Jenna Lascelle recorded her first career multiple-goal game with a hat trick vs. Dartmouth; the three points also marked a personal best… Kristine Horn has tallied a point each of the last three games and in five of the last six (1g, 6a)… Kayla Mork recorded a career-high two assists vs. DC… Kristina Lavoie matched her personal best of two assists at Harvard; she has tallied a point four of the last five games (3g, 2a)… Arielle O’Neill notched two assists vs. Dartmouth to equal her career high…

Northeastern University: With two in eight days, Northeastern has consecutive victories over Boston University for the first time since 2005…The Huskies’ top line of junior Brittany Esposito, junior tri-captain Casey Pickett and freshman Kendall Coyne combined for six points in the victory…Coyne has scored goals and multiple points in five straight games (six-game point streak), and has a point in 14 of her 15 games this year…Pickett is working on a five-game point streak, while Esposito has a three-gamer…senior Florence Schelling stopped 29 of 30 shots against BU for her 12th win; she continues to lead Hockey East netminders in save percentage (.941) and goals against average (1.64).

Providence College: The Friars are now off until January 6 and January 7 when they host Robert Morris…Providene only has four games at Schneider Arena remaining in the regular season…Providence is tied for second in the nation with six short-handed goals…Goaltender Genevieve Lacasse is one win away from tying the school record for career victories at 58.

University of Vermont: Freshmen Amanda Pelkey and Meghan Huertas lead the team in scoring with 10 points…Vermont has 37 goals this season, they had just 44 all of last season…Catamount freshman have scored 15 of Vermont’s 37 goals this season…This weekend Vermont improved to 1-5-6 at home this season…Catamounts are 2-2-3 this season when they score first…Vermont is riding a three-game unbeaten streak into the semester break…Vermont will be ide for nearly a month as they take the ice again for a non-conference tilt at Dartmouth on January 3, 2012.
