"But when I sit back and think about those expectations it sometimes strikes me just how spoiled we UK fans are. Out of 256 Division I teams. I would wager that 1 in the past 14 'horrible' years that we've gone through, we're still in the top 20 for total victories, winning percentage, and number of championships (not just NCAA. We-win-more "games than most colleges dream of. "I am going to be brash enough to say that the past 14 years were not horrible. Indeed. I would even call them respectable. We played the toughest teams in the country year in and year out. It's hard to build a dynasty against Louisville. Indiana, and North Carolina. "It's hard to build a dynasty period. There are simply too many good players in the country today.. Pick up a list of next year's potential recruits. There are the top 100 (probably pro potential) "vd then hundred"; m"— potential. I sometimes tHink OK fans expect to have the entire top 100 on our bench. But we can't! Only 15. and only 5 on the floor at a.time. And we have to face the fact that everyone doesn't "want" to come to UK anymore. And for everyone who does, there's going to be a player of equal stature on the other team. "Maybe I'm just npt old enough to remember the days when we never lost. Maybe some of the older fans will say. "That boy just ain't true blue." Or maybe I just think too much.
