About Kits HouseSince 1894, Kitsilano Neighbourhood House has been the hub of theWestside. Kitsilano Neighbourhood House is a friendly neighbourhoodplace. Our RedevelopmentStarting January 23rd, 2012 , the current site of Kits House at West7th & Vine will be undergoing redevelopment. Both heritage buildingswill be preserved. Community Development TablesWestside Food Security CollaborationThe Westside Food Security Collaborative is a neighbourhood groupworking on food issues on the Westside. The group is made up of serviceproviders and community members. We meet monthly and welcome newmembers. Westside Seniors Empowerment Coalition
The coalition represents seniors living on Vancouvers Westside. It is anumbrella group of individuals, community health providers, communityorganizations, churches, businesses, and agencies. Building Welcoming Communities
Neighbourhood Small Grants ProgramWant to get involved? Feel like giving back to the community?Apply for a Neighbourhood Small Grant (NSG)!
Groups of two or more neighbours can apply for a grant of $50 to $500 towork together on small projects that bene t their neighbourhood socially,physically, culturally or environmentally. Applicants must live in Arbutus
Ridge, Kitsilano or West Point Grey. All grant decisions are made by our Resident Committee.
Teach a cooking class. Put on a music recital. Have a street hockeytournament. Plant a community garden and much more!
Next deadline will be in the Spring of 2012. The exact date is TBA.

Community PreschoolOffsite - Jericho Military Base at 4th & Highbury
We offer a child-centred curriculum for 3 & 4 year olds that is play-based with focused questions and activities. The program supportschildren in their emotional, social, creative, cognitive and physicaldevelopment. The children go outside everyday, and participate in 2-3
eld trips per year.
Morning Session:
Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9:30am-12:00pm
Afternoon Session:
Monday, Wednesday & Friday 1:30pm-4:00pm
Cost: $190/month + $50 registration + $10 annual membership.
Sept & June fees to be paid at time of registration.

Kitsilano & Dunbar Kids Club are committed to providing qualityprograms that encourage children to learn and explore their interestsand ideas. We follow a child-oriented, play-based philosophy. Thisprogram is designed for children 5 to 12 years old , attending one of
the schools that we serve. We also provide day care during the schoolbreaks at an additional cost. Both locations have care from Mondayto Friday!

Come and meet parents and other children in the neighbourhoodthrough an hour of rhymes, songs, and stories that support early lit-eracy. Through this program, you will develop a special bond betweenyou and your child. Kits House offers this program to two different agegroups to better accomodate you and your family:
Starts Tuesday January 17th, 2012 - March 20th, 2012. (10 sessions)

Youth LeadershipThe program will focus on developing the skills and awareness neces-sary to be a community leader and be the next level program for thosewho completed Youth Volunteer Skills and others who already havesome volunteer skills. Youth Leadership will also have a special focuson environmental sustainability and social justice. The program willhave opportunities to work on volunteer projects in the community.
The program will begin in early 2012.

Westside Seniors Links ProgramSeniors Links brings together Westside seniors who need some helparound the house with students who are able to help. Seniors canarrange to have help with simple household tasks such as light house-work, gardening and odd jobs. Seniors select the student and pay $10per hour for a minimum of 2 hours.
