    SUCCESS STORY OF SMALL ENTREPRENUER

A crisscross of lines ,lets say a puzzle which is unsolved, whichshows a direction , destination. which is full of difficulties

    ,hurdles, and problems. .

Which is a a type of ladder where we have to walk with full

patience .which becomes more haphazzard as we move

further.ones we solve it then the ball is in our court.

so now the question arises as what is this..?

well its the platform and goal or the target line of a small

entrepreneur ,small does not denote somebody is less than

our TATAS and AMBANIS ,rather they are the support

system of the world and the big multinationals.

Now who is a entrepreneur ?

Well ,they are the pragmatic persons with high positive and

far sightedness vision with have positive forces with

illuminating aura in them which drives them to go and reach

the direction and to struggle with the negative forces whichcreates a problem in their path .

But to be very true they are being criticized and demotivated

by the jealous people of this world. They are our future

billionaire if properly nourished and given a proper platform

    by government and economy.

Well there are more than 10lakhs small scale entreprenuers in

every nook and corner of this world .But to prove my point , Iwill just give the example of a real successful entrepreneur in

    a small town of JAMSHEDPUR

(Jharkhand).its a story of a person who migrated from his

rural land to the steel city(Jamshedpur)with a gaol.He reached

this place ,with only Rs 10,000 with him,out of which 6000 was

taken from a moneylender from his village which was to berepaid with interest of 15% after 2 years .He spend his early

days and nights in railway stations and bus stops .one day he

was just walking on a road called as Sakchi, where some

reconstruction of a small store was going on .where he thought

to make some effort .He went and offered some help for only

Rs 20 per day (morning to evening). Luckily because of the

low price charged by him he was a given a chance and he

decorated and cutted the shelves and painted the whole store

with his extremely incredible way .which was really

unbelievable,as it was very convenient for placing each item

and each item was clearly visible from the gate of the store

and there was more space for items which reduced the cost

maintenance and placement and and provided a proper store

atmosphere to attract customers .He was highly impressed

and gave the order for some more reconstruction work insome other areas for opening up of stores ,within a duration

of 6 months he became a highly demanded labour by each

shopkeeper as he charged less price than any other worker

.His positive attitude made him work as a worker for a

    building construction business.

One day there was a dispute between the builder and its board

of directors In a meeting .that is a round tableconference. They had a quarrel in 3 issues:

1.There were 2 lands where from which they had to decide

    0ne.

    Take as land x ,y.

x-it was a well fertile land with high yield in food crops and it

was located in a silent place .no pollution nothing.or

y-It was in the middle of the city near by the road .with no

proper yield in the past years.

The builder was unable to take a decision on the selection of

    land .

2.Collection of resources from suppliers of raw material was

another problem. there were again two options

1.A new supplier charging less price in comparision to others

suppliers ,with no proper track records.

    or

2.A old trustworthy supplier ,who was known in the market

for his loyalty and quality goods but charging price which was

    comparatively than others suppliers.

There were also some financial and legal issues .

As the worker saw the builder highly tensed ,he thought ofgiving some advice to him indirectly, what he did he just wrote

in a piece of paper his perception and his viewpoints. A letter

    it was

    It was like this.

    Dear sir,

I m a small worker of your factory just saw u tensed today

morning of the negotiation things.just has few advice on thoseissues please consider them:

1.you should go for the land x as the land is fertile enough to

hold the high building properly, as the soil is rich. Moreover it

is located in a silent place,as generally people prefer to build

houses for a stay after their retirement so they want it to be in

a less crowded place.2.You should go for the old supplier as he has proper

reputation in the market and we have his past track records to

crosscheck him with his details ,in case he break the terms of

agreement we can sue him as we have correct knowledge of his

place. Moreover with the new supplier there is always a risk

of delay in supply, poor quality of cement and other raw

material ,so it wont be cost effective.

    Yours faithfully,

    MUNNA PATEL

This letter of his was highly appreciated by the builder there

was even some more information given in a piece of paper.

    1. India provides a wide array of assistanceprogrammes to promote small industry development.

They can perhaps be conveniently grouped under fourheadings as follows:

    - Assistance in expanding markets (includingpreference in purchasing by government; support injoint tendering for government purchase contracts;price preference; and reservation of certain productlines or industries for only small-scale manufacturers).

    - Supply of essential raw materials.

    - Provision (and subsidy on cost) of finance forinvestment and working capital.

    - Provision of technical assistance and other advisory

    services.

Policy and implementation bodies along all these linesexist at national and state levels and sometimes alsolower down. Many forms of assistance are given fromthe large variety of institutions but an attempt has beenmade to provide one window bassistance throughDistrict Industries Centres which directly provide all

assistance or at least coordinate it.

    Assistance in expanding markets

Reservation for small industries of certain items is apolicy whereby the central government and manynational organizations buy exclusively from the SSIsector in order to solve the market difficulties of the SSI

units. As at the end of March 1984, 404 items wereincluded in the list for exclusive SSI supply. Table 26gives the list of forest-based products which fall intothis group. In addition, there were 12 items to bepreferentially procured from SSI units up to 75 percentand 25 items up to 50 percent of total requirements.Central government also offers 15 percent price

preference to tenders by SSI; many states offer thesame.

Government has also recognised that since individualSSI units are scattered throughout the country and their

in government stores purchase programmes even ifcertain items are reserved for them to supply. Itaccordingly allows state SSI corporations to tender onbehalf of the small-scale units.

Government also reserves certain industries or productlines for exclusive manufacture by the small-scalesector provided that such articles/goods can be

produced economically by small enterprises. The totalnumber of items so reserved stood at 126 in 1968 buthad reached 872 in

A facility which mostly aims at expanding smallindustry markets but also helps in promoting their

technological improvement is ancillarisation. Underthis scheme, a small industry is deliberately created tobe or is transformed into being an ancillary of a largerindustry on a formal sub-contract basis. The incentivesfor the large industry include access to cheaper loans,.

All this information had really helped the builder toincrease his source and take advantage of the differentinformation given by the government and economy..Hetrused MUNNA and followed his paths which reallyhelped his business to grow In terms of high increase in

order of bookings .the builder was so very impressed

that he called MUNNA one day and gave his o proposalit was a parternship of 49% in that constructionbusiness which was to be constructed in a distancewhich was 4 km from mango .he was overwhelmed andaccepted the proposaland he achieved his victory by following the successmantra of start small plan big and be Indian and thinkinternational. So I this way he has achieved his goal and still trying toinprove in every field so as to gain more market sharewith his honest and innovative tactics.fulfilling hismission was not only because of ideas and dreams butalso a lot of hard work ,realistic planning guided byspell out policy direction. In 1995 ,the government enunciated its industrial

(TARGET2000) which set the tone for adopting a newapproach to industrialization development In theliberalized economy .one of the objective of thisindustrial policy has been to promote the growth ofsmall scale and cottage industries to help smallentrepreneurs. But there are problems like lack of acess to credit

,marketing problems, complying with cumbersomeprocedures ,harassment by inspecting ,governmentalrules ,technological obsolescence ,rigid labour lawsimpending operational flexibility etc ,as they areinnumerable.
