IN THE RED – HOW YOU CAN HELP The Parents’ Association could not run the calendar of events that it does without the help of many parents/volunteers. We realise that some parents want to support Mount View events, but don’t want to, or are not able to be on committees and attend meetings. The Red Aprons are volunteers that are happy to assist when they are able. If you would like to be included on our list of Red Aprons please contact [email protected]

WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO? The Parents’ Association is dedicated to raising funds to improve the resources we are able to offer all our children. Money raised has purchased high vis vests for use on Bike Ed and Ski Camp, new equipment for the Performing arts room and new climbing equipment which will be soon installed in the PE Centre

You may have noted a voluntary payment of $15 on your fees notice for the Parents’ Association. This money also goes to funding many school projects.

Thank you to those parents who have made this voluntary payment. If you have not paid this or would simply like to add a little more, this can be done at any time throughout the year

WHO ARE THE PARENTS’ ASSOCIATION? The Parents’ Association is comprised of a passionate and enthusiastic group of parents who want to make Mount View Primary School a friendly and flourishing community. The Executive Team for 2018 consists of: President: Kamala Powell (Jessica Y5, Abby Y2) Vice President: Nicole Langford (James Y5, Sophie Y2) Secretary: Katie Leaver (Emily Y5, Madison Y4) Treasurer: Farahana Ekanayake (Devin Y1) The next Parents’ Association meeting will be on Monday, 19 March in the staffroom at 7.30pm. We would love to see some new faces at this meeting.

COCO LIGHTS UP THE NIGHT The first event on the Parents’ Association calendar for 2018 was the Outdoor Movie Night – Coco. On the Friday of the recent long weekend, 600 parents, grandparents, students and friends gathered on the Walden Oval with blankets for a movie and the chance to meet up with old friends and make new ones. The Parents’ Association put in a lot of work to create the relaxed family friendly vibe.

Everything was on hand to ensure the night was a success – Wood Fired Pizza, Coffee Van, Ice Cream Truck plus Popcorn, Fairy Floss and Glow Sticks and fabulous weather! Our hard working second hand uniform team had gathered tubs of quality items for purchase with many working parents taking advantage of the sale. The night not only raised $2000 but was thoroughly enjoyed by all that attended.
