On Wednesday’s early release day, they went on a field trip to Norwell High School’s International Fair. Students who are studying foreign languages created different stations in the gym for our students to visit. There, they listened to a play told in Spanish, learned how to write their names in Arabic, created Roman shields and spent time with characters Madeleine, Dora and Diego. They had a wonderful time! On Thursday, it was kindergarten’s turn to host this month’s community meeting. The theme was “Responsibility, We Hold the Key”. Classes were given paper keys and students were encouraged to write one way they can pledge to help strengthen our community by being responsible. They did a fantastic job presenting this theme. Look for these keys to be displayed on a bulletin board shortly. This past weekend was Norwell’s Music Marathon. Kudos to CJ Hudanich, Lily Hudanich, Zach Reilly, Hana Takahashi, Julia Birtwell, Audrey Haskins, Julia Neumann, Corinne Young, Norah Murphy, Abby Chapman, Maddie Schiller, Katie Johnson, Chloe Whyte, Johanna Murphy, Emma Mellace, Kristin McCarthy, Mia Frattasio, Sydney Christensen, Tia Cantor, Maeve Perry, Abby Keefe, and Abby Leff for performing. You did Vinal proud! PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES Parent Teacher Conferences will be held the week of April 14th. You will be receiving a meeting request form in your child’s backpack shortly. EARLY RELEASE DAY ON APRIL 15th April 15st is an Early Release Day in Norwell. Dismissal will be at 12:20 pm. There will be NO Kindergarten or Pre-K. Please be sure to send in a note if your child’s dismissal plans are different for this day. On early release days, the number of children picked up is typically double of what it is in on an average day. There were 200 students on the dismissal list on the April 1st early release day. That’s approximately 35% of the entire school population. It is very important that cars not line up before 3:15 pm for dismissal as this many cars will cause a back up onto Old Oaken Bucket Rd, preventing buses from entering and causing potential safety hazards. Please note also, that with less students on the buses, your child may arrive at his/her stop earlier than anticipated.
