It was viewed much the same as Jesus saying to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see My hands. Stop doubting and believe” (John 20:27). As Jesus promised, we believe that He is really present in this Sacrament with His very body and His very blood for our forgiveness. We also believe that oneness in doctrine is Biblically affirmed for those who receive the Sacrament together. We therefore ask guests desiring to commune to kindly speak with the pastor before the service. STEWARDSHIP BIBLE VERSE FOR APRIL 3, 2016 John 20:19 “On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you." Fear is the oppo- site of faith, that is, the kind of cringing fear we have in the face of something that is hostile to us and more powerful to us. Jesus spends a lot of His time telling the disciples to not be afraid. Our fears constantly hem us in and pre- vent us from following the Lord’s will. But there is no need to fear. Jesus has conquered. No fear can keep us locked up: we have been set free by Jesus for lives that declare His marvelous deeds. In the early church, the celebration of the Lord’s Supper was viewed as a

continuation of the RESURRECTION appearances of the Risen Savior. It

was viewed much the same as Jesus saying to Thomas, “Put your finger here;

is Biblically affirmed for those who receive the Sacrament together. We

therefore ask guests desiring to commune to kindly speak with the pastor

before the service.
