It has been great to see a lot more Wildies beco-ming fed players. This means our kingdom has been growing each day by lots of promotion among our friends. One of the features which come together with becoming a fed player is that you will start to seek allies.

I am here to help everyone in the kingdom to match allies when needed. However, it might be good for you all to understand that its not always easy to find an ally.

In Wild Protea, we do not just randomly become allies and then fill up spots as many other King-doms do. We try to be to be efficient with allies.

We prefer to match 2 allies who are bigger then you and 2 allies who are smaller. When allies total acres are more then yours, they will be able to help you by sending you citizens, when your citizen capacity goes below 4000%. Same for you, you will be able to send citizen to your ally who has fewer acres than you do. I am here to help everyone in the kingdom to match allies when needed. However, it might be good for you all to understand that its not always easy to find an ally.

If a disaster ap-pearspears it will come back about 3 TE years later, so do some counting and you know when you have to be back to catch the other disaster. This way you gain gold but you also keep your population up.

Why is an embassy important?An embassy can be purchased, which will be built in the empire of one of your allies. The cost of an embassy is considerable (a bit over five times the cost of an acre of land).

OnceOnce an embassy is built, additional offers may appear. One type of offer is for the recipient of the embassy to read confidential papers of their ally. The offer also suggests that the ally might not find out. The cost to read the papers is consi-derable. The benefits/consequences of reading the papers is questionable.

Embassies increase the frequency of offers to sell land at a higher cost.

When one is sabotaged, if an ally with embassy is online that ally may get an opportunity to pay for an investigation. A successful investigation reverses the effects of sabotage and causes the perpetrator to lose the same number of acres.

The main benefit of having an em-bassy is that the strengthened diplo-matic relations let you transfer citi-zens without losing as many of them. You can also send more citizens at one time. Without an embassy, 60 % of the citizens you transfer to an ally will leave for parts unknown. If you do have an embassy, only 25 % will be disgruntled and leave.

Maintaining four alliances and sup-porting four embassies is rewarded with increased production of +1 gold per acre per month.

Why is it sometimes hard to find allies?YYou all send me a note card when you are in need for allies, with the infor-mation i need to make a match. This is the easy part, but then the search start. Sometimes it goes fast and easy and all is done in a second. But it also happens that I only have people with thethe same number of acres. When you have around the same number of acres then you are not an efficient match but just a match. Its not clear who is the one who helps and if you help each other you have to send se-veral times which also means you go very fast down with your own per-centage. So not the kind of allies I prefer to match to someone.

The Kingdom of Acheron

Although it Although it was a grey morning with heavy clouds hanging from the sky, Sussen and I saddled our horses and prepared for a long trip. Sussen made sandwiches and I packed them tothem together with a jug filled with bitter ale in the saddle bags. Acheron is a kingdom on the west side of the isle. We decided to take the northern route that would take us through Invicta, Aristalogy, around the kingdom of Ireland to Wyplay and then to Twilight and Acheron.

Sometime ago I got a message from Paula Bedrosian, who at the time was vicereine at Gilead. She told me she had lost money betting on me during jousting. I often lose so it wasn’t that smart to bet on me. We got in to conversation and I learned she was not very happy with Gilead. A few days later she changed to Acheron and although I did try, 2

one of my useless efforts she probably told her king

about me because he send me a message: “Hi Tamurello, the only

waway you can have Paula under you is if you join us and rotate the vicereine position with her. Maybe you can teach her some

jousting skills and me too.” Bratt seemed a friendly king and he soon agreed to an

interview. It would be a big trip all across the northern Island.

As we left Rab was working on his land. He is such a hard worker. We met this fine farmer lad a few times at the Cup and Spittle. We stopped to greet him and as we told him about our journey trip he gave us some great chocolate cookies he had bahad baked that morning.

As the day passed by the weather cleared and riding through the green meadows, up and down hills with shattered farms, made me feel really good. My wandering days are long passed, and I noticed that at the end of the day having quite a soresore butt. It is good that the Cup and Spittle has a lot of franchises, so we easily found a place to stay and feed the horses. On the seventh day in the afternoon we arrived at Acheron. King Bratt was already informed by his scouts, whom we metmet the night before. He gave us

great welcome. After refreshing we sat with him at the long table in the garden together with Vicereine Teagan and Vicereine Rosie. The table was stuffed with good food and pints with tasty beer ( I guess the king himself brews it).

KingKing Bratt told us that he started to play Tiny Empires at the kingdom of Charm. After changing to Acheron he became Grand Viceroy under Queen Deana Wrigglesworth. She left the kingdom 1,5 years ago and Bratt ascendedascended the throne. Under his reign Acheron became a big kingdom and is now at rank 7. It is obvious that the King is proud of his residents: “We all made Acheron big, not only me”. The way King Bratt talks about Acheron makes it clearclear that it is a friendly kingdom, with warm-hearted people. They

organize regularly events like music nights, movie nights, fishing events, trader meetings etc. When someone needs about 25 acres more to become prince/ess they have an acre party where all give acres when they get the opportunity. A circle of treetree stumps next to the tavern is used for trader meetings. At Acheron there is a 7 seas fishing area where people tend to hang-out lately. Every Thursday there is a fishing contest and Saturday’s there is life music at the Cup and Spittle, where also a lot owhere also a lot of DJ’s perform.

He founded the Styx imperium, but being King of Acheron and Guild leader was too much, so he gave his imperium to a friend to give all his attentionattention to Acheron, obviously because he loves to be King of Acheron.

In several ways the kingdom offers help to new citizens. There is a tutorial board for the first 6 pages on the TE-HUD and new recruits get a welcome chest. Also they urge people to put questions in the group chat. The Vicereines and VicerViceroys are trained and well educated so each one can take over the role of King. There are so many people who finished the path to royalty that there is a rotation schedule for vices. Also the role of Grand Vicereine/roy rotates. Some hhave founded their own kingdom now and are allies with Acheron.

At Acheron activities are organized to raise funds to pay for the tier of the land.“In that way all can contribute what they can afford. This month we have a photo contest.”As I look around I see a board with already a lot of pictures in the middle of the marketplace.

“To enter the contest you pay 25 L$ and to vote 100 L$. Sometime ago we had a kissing booth and there are more activities planned like a silent auction and art expositions to attract more people to the sim. So actually all pay to keep the sim runninrunning.”

Behind the trader circle is a wall with an allies board. All that seek an ally can add their name to the board. If someone is looking for an ally he can put his name on the board or send an instant message to someone who is already on the board.board. At another wall there is an Alchemist Cabinet. In it are all the potions and when you click one it shows what it does. Next to the ca-binet is a board with the dates of the last trader, festival and alche-mist. These items come from Luc Flores who runs a shop in Tiny Empire stuff.

The sun slowly descended below the horizon sending a hazy mist over the meadows. Since it was

getting colder it was better to put an end to the conversation. We thanked king Bratt for his time and went to our rooms at the Cup and Spittle. At the taproom we were invited to have some drinks. When we finally arrived back at Wild Protea we heard about the disaster Acheron had hit. Shortly after we left a vulcano errupted. King Brat managed to get most of his citizens out. Since Bratt was very proud to be King he stayed to thethe last moment and then lost the chance to get away. Together with his Acheron he vanished.Rosie (Rosaria Constantine) ascen-ded the throne and found a new place. Her Queendom is called Acherusia, not far away from Wild Protea on the south-east side of the northern isle. We wish her and all that are with her a lot of luck.2

Acheron is also on internet (http://www.acheron-queendom.com/). The site is has a load of information on Acheron, a blog, photo gallery, calendar and some fun pages. At the bottom of the frontpage there is a link to the AcAcheron Magazine. A lot of the residents of Acheron help keeping the site up to date.

I am not the best in meeting trader and earning lots of gold. Therefore acres come slow. But eventually even I reach 950 personal acres. This should give everyone hope – be patient in the end you will be back in the prince(ss) making tent to become prince(ss) for lifto become prince(ss) for life. On 23. September I was invited by Angie to flash and stand in the red famous tent. The marvelous tunes of Angie swung us through the nite, but I had a hard day and was sleepy. Lots of great friends had donated acres so I could drag donated acres so I could drag my fatigue body to my bed with 980 personal acres. The next day I was very excited. After another long day working I finally found my way

back and stood in the tent. A lot of great friends started immedia-tely donating and even before our King could donate anything. He just woke up in time, to see me become Prince for Life. I’m not sure what I said nor what made mmy King upset, but the first thing he did was sending me to prison. I had to stay there for a whole year. All keep saying it’s great in to be send to prison, but I had planned my first year of being prince a bit different. Eventually all were so very hearti-ly and helped me through the dark hours in the gloomy, moist dungeon. Wild Protea is a great family, thanks all for the help.

He got lonely again and felt the need to get attention, but every one that knew him wanted nothing to do with him, so he decided to go recruiting for new people. Unfortunately he was lazy, and he didn't want to "waste time" on helping new people and showing them around SL, so he did the next best thing thatthat he could think of, he went recruiting people from his own family.

He didn't go recruiting the senior family members, because they wanted nothing to do with him any more and more than that, they knew better, they knew that you don't go recruiting within your own family, that would be like stealing from a family member. But Otiose didn't care about the family, all he was thinking of was himself. He went to the new family members andand he try to lure them with promises and empty words, about how wonderful he is and how much he can help them, he also told them that it doesn't really matter who you are under, as long as you stay in the family, after all we are all one big happy family, so what does it matter who you are lieged under.

Most of the people that he talked to, didn't really buy it, and went to ask their liege before making that big step, after all, their liege was the one that really helped them and spent time teaching them. But every now and then, he was able to get someone, most of the time it was because their liege wasn't online at that time. Some of the people who switched to him got really upset and their feelings got hurt, after all the time and money they spent, real money to buy the hud and to be a part of the family. Now they felt betrayed by the family and they left the family and some even left SL. There was a lot of drama. But most of them talked to their old liege, the one that reallyreally helped them and as a real family member and a real teacher, their old liege explain to them what they actually did with that one simple click on the hud to change a liege, they might have cost some one a rank and that switching from one to each other, actually cost money, and the people above them were also getting hurt, most of the old lieges took the newbie batook the newbie back.

Some old lieges got really upset and felt betrayed and wanted nothing to do with the newbie any more, after all, if they did it once, they might do it again. The new player felt bad and left out, and some left SL.

It did not take long, all the people that Otiose recruited, either left him or went back to their old liege or just left SL, and once again, Otiose was with no friends to keep him happy, because you can't buy friends, friendship is something that you need to work on and earn

TThe King got to hear about all the trouble that Otiose was causing, it led to too much drama in his kingdom. The King sent Otiose to jail for one year, hoping that this time Otiose would learn a lesson. Otiose’s liege even visited Otiose every day in jail to teach him the values of our family. The king also said that IF there were a next time, he would ban Otiose from the kingdom.Otiose from the kingdom.

RECRUTINGBefore you begin you should have a Tiny Empires trial hud in your inventory. You may have this already as you would have likely have received this from the person who recruited you initially. If you have deleted it or were one of the rare ones to have purchased a hud without

the trial hud for free by visiting the Tiny Empires store (location coordinates are 146, 41, 53.)The trial hud should be shared with your new subject. They may need to be instructed on how to wear the hud. You should also remind your new subject that the hud must be worn in script-enabled locations for it to function

Like many, recruiting does not come easy to me. It doesn't come natural to me to go up to complete strangers and say “hi you don’t know me but I belong to a great group of people and I think you should join. Liege to me now!” Yes I'm over simplifying but you get the picture. This is an example of how not to recruit.

TheThe thing is that it may not come natural to many but it is an essential part of Tiny Empires. If we didn't recruit just think of all our Wildies Family we wouldn't have met. Aside from the length of your friends list recruiting adds to your SL life in practical ways. The most important of these is that it helps the Wildies grow as a kingdom.kingdom. For personal reasons you may want to add to your downline by adding new people so that you can move up the ranks quicker.

As lieging someone under you pushes you up the ranks, it also helps who you are lieged to and who they are lieged to and so on up the line. As their subject it is important for you to continue to grow your line and as a result theirs as well. The people who liege to you will become your subjects. The income you make onon the acres your subjects have is called “homage”. The rate of homage paid is reduced as you gain rank but of course your number of acres is greater.

You may want to begin recruiting people you already know, people who are in your friends list. When you first begin recruiting, it is important to ask your liege, or ask in Wildies group chat for assistance.

RECRUTINGBefore you begin you should have a Tiny Empires trial hud in your inventory. You may have this already as you would have likely have received this from the person who recruited you initially. If you have deleted it or were one of the rare ones to have purchased a hud without

properly. If the clock on the hud turns orange and does not continue progressing you should try clicking the clock to see if it reactivates the hud and if that does not work then detach and reattach the hud.

AcresAcres can be given to a person but land cannot be purchased until they have a liege. You will need to stand next to the person that wishes to liege to you. They will be the one to get the message asking if they want to liege to you. You will want to explain, voting, buying and selling of land, upgrades, no offers, October quizquiz month, December tax month, and January income on alternating years. Of course we love when we are awarded prize monies …..and cute kittens. If you are a prince/ess you should add your new subject to the Wild Protea group and announce your new subject in group chat. If you are below prince/ess rank then you shouldshould ask one to add your subject to group but you should be the one to introduce them in group chat. This gives the Wildies a chance to welcome your new subject, so your subject can begin getting acquainted with their new SL family.

You will also want to introduce your subject to the Wildies land and at least have them landmark Club Flash so they can join us for dancing and merriment. Last but not least you'll want to keep in touch and help your subject when you can. We want to keep them excited about being part of our family. Once theythey have one acre of land and feel comfortable with the idea, they can begin recruiting at any time.

the barn with all the others, Rab had not seen a mouse or small bird all the me he had been living here. Rab had seen many recipes for cooking cats and kiens but Rab was never THAT hungry.

The nThe next day Rab went in to town, ErMit's birthday was coming up and Rab wanted to buy him a gi. Rab wandered around the shops looking in the windows, not sure what to buy. Rab knew that ErMit would like a good bole of red wine or Cognac but Rab did not but Rab did not want to encourage his drinking. Rab knew ErMit had an ear for music so he went to the music shop. A year later to that night, Rab received a manuscript from Chancer called "Tales To Canterbury" also Chancer sent Rab some gold, with a thank you note.

With the gold Rab had in his pocket and the gold the father just gave him, Rab had enough gold to go and buy the flute. With watering eyes, Rab went home happy.

ThThat night the heavens open and it rained heavily. Rab put another log on the fire and was warm and cozy in his shelter. Rab nearly jumped out of his skin, when he heard knocking on his door. Who could be out in such bad weather. When he opened the door the door the rain soaked him, standing there looking like a drowned rat was a stranger. Rab let him in quickly and closed the door.

The Stranger introduced himself as Geoffrey Chancer, His mates called him "Chancer". Chancer told Rab that he was a civil servant, traveling to Canterbury on a pilgrimage. Rab invited Chancer to take off his soaking wet clothes and sit by the fifire to warm up. Rab gave Chancer some dry clothes to change into, he also gave Chancer a glass of brandy and one for himself.
