Find out why blogging is gradually becoming more of a mainstream phenomenon.

The reason why Wretch is the most popular BPS (blog service provider) in Taiwan

Research other user’s perception from exist user point of view.

Explore Wretch’s users behavior and attitude which influence user’s actual usage

Hypotheses

H1: The function of Album is a key feature of the website. Wretch provides large space for users to display their photos and also offers software to enable users to upload their photos more quickly.

H2: The message board provides an interactive platform for viewers and writers. The function of

Connecting with friends’ page makes it possible to easily contact with friends.

H3: The interface is easy for beginners. Wretch sets a lot of examples to teach users how to build up their own homepage.

H4: The satisfaction of current Wretch’s users is dropping since Wretch move out the server from Chiao Tung university academic network infrastructure resource. The speed is slower than before and hard to log in during the rush hour.

H5: User is quite sensitive to the service cost. There is no loyalty for BSP user. The service and charging policy are the two major factors for user’s consideration.

H6: The private and public university of students is no any difference on using Wretch.

Observation and expectations

• Most people satisfy with the Wretch’s album function. • The good friend blog link is very useful and convenient feature. • The music management function also is a good feature for blogger to

choose many kind of background music to express self own mood and exaggerate personal style.

• The security control is not big issue for those user because they love to share with each other.

• The Wretch blog template is quite useful to beginner to establish their own blog.

• We presume the primary reason for Wretch to attract people is the album function.

• Most user will recommend Wretch to their friend if it’s free. Most young people still prefer the free charge BSP because the serious competition.

• Among those BPS competitor, we think Xuite is the most threateningly one.

• Unless Wretch’s service is more inferior than other BPS, most user will not consider to their blog to other BSP.

Survey result date analysis

67 people had been invited for the questionnaire but only 60 people responded valid. Out of those responses, the 60 responded questionnaires were selected for data analysis

Respondent demographic :

1. The female respondents were 38.2. The male respondents were 22.3. The respondents age range were from 17~ 30.

Q1. Are you satisfied with the functions of album provided by Wretch?

The results show that 36 users satisfy with the function of album providing by Wretch, and it also meet our hypotheses of the function of album is a key feature of the website..

Q2.Are you satisfied with the space of album provided by Wretch?

The results show that 27 students satisfy with the space of album provided by Wretch, and it was meet our hypotheses .

Q3. Are you satisfied with the function of connecting with friend’s page provided by Wretch?

The results show 32 students satisfy with the function of connecting with friend’s page.

Q4. Are you satisfied with the function of message boards provided by Wretch?

The are 30 students satisfied with the massage boards function. But there still 10 students unsatisfied this function.

Q5.Are you satisfied with the function of blog music management provided by Wretch?

The results is that there have 19 students satisfied with the function of blog music management provided by Wretch, even if the results were meet our hypotheses.

Q6. Are you satisfied with the encryption mechanism provided by Wretch?

The are 22 respondents satisfied with the encryption mechanism provided by Wretch,most students were no comments on it, and few students were extremely unsatisfied .

Q7. Do you think the example designed by Wretch help you establish and control your own blog?

35 students think it’s helpful for the blog template which provided by Wretch. It’s really help them To establish and control them own blog.

Q8. Which factor attracts you most to sign in Wretch ? Any why? Please rank it in order (1~5)?

The most popular in Wretch was the album function, and the second was the function of connection with friend’s page .

Q9. Which function do you use most often in Wretch? Any why? Please rant it in order (1~5)

The most frequent using function is the album. 39 respondents reflect this fact. And the second most frequent using function was the good friend blog ling function.

Q10.If you don’t need to pay any fee and Wretch increase the space of album, will this movement attract you and will you recommend your friends to sign in Wretch?

Price is quite sensitive for Taiwan BSP user, especial the competition gets more severe. Price and service are the two major considerable factors for BSP user. From the survey results show that there is no loyalty for users if the BSP company service charge and service quality is too far away.

Q11.If you need to pay an extra fee and Wretch increase the space of album, will this movement attract you and will you recommend your friends to sign in Wretch?

The results is that there have 27 students were choose no comments on pay an extra fee and Wretch increase the space of album and also no comments on recommend friends to sign in Wretch .
