Who is the camp for? The Robotics Engineering Summer Camp is for current 8th— 11th grade students enrolled at Carver Middle School, Oak Park Middle School, or Leesburg High School. Do I have to know how to program robotics already? Students should be at a beginner to intermediate level with programming and building robots. When will the camp be held?: The camp will take place over three weeks Monday - Thursday (No camp on Fridays) from June 15th until July 2nd 9 am - 3 pm Will transportation be provided? Yes, if transportation is needed, it will be provided daily with an 8:30 am pick up and a 3:30 pm drop off at Leesburg High School. Where will the camp be held? The camp will take place on LSSC’s Leesburg Campus.

How much does the camp cost? Thanks to a grant from the National Science Foundation, we are able to provide this experience free of charge to 25 students. The value of this camp is approximately $1,000 per student; therefore, due to the high cost value of this project, all interested students will have to submit an application and undergo a screening process. A total of 25 participants will be selected. Only students who are prepared and available to commit to the entire 3-week summer camp should apply.

Will lunch be provided? Yes, a hot free lunch will be provided each day.

Please complete and submit the attached application,

essay and recommendation form by May 20th.

Recommendations should be completed by a current or

former Math, Science, or Technology/Engineering

teacher. Applications, recommendations and essays

should be submitted together to:

Leesburg High School—Kim Brown

Carver Middle School—Bart Nash

Oak Park Middle School—Randi Wright

Selected students will be notified by May 26.
