Concerned with the Reliability or Dated Technology of Your Low-voltage Motor Control Centers?Replacement Units for Low-voltage Motor Control Centers (MCC) from Schneider Electric Field Services
Motor control center structures and internal bus work typically have a long life. Their unit racking systems are simple and most likely, in good shape. So why replace the entire MCC when problems arise? You now have an option to upgrade your motor control centers with industry leading components, without replacing the structure and bus.
Direct replacement units are available for the most common brands of MCCs that have been produced over the past 50 years, including Square D,™ Westinghouse, Allen-Bradley and others. This approach minimizes outage time and reduces the extensive cost associated with having to match existing footprints for the removal and reinstallation of cables. You can also replace units one at a time over an extended period, which provides an overall equipment upgrade on a limited maintenance budget.

MCC Direct Replacement Unit AvailabilityNew direct replacement motor control center units are available for many common vintage and current style MCCs. Following is a partial list of OEM models in which direct replacement units are available:
• Allen-Bradley: Centerline® 2100• General Electric: 7700 and 8000 Series• ITE – Gould – Telemecanique: Series 5600*• Square D Model 4• Westinghouse and Cutler-Hammer: Type W
Features of an MCC Direct Replacement Unit
• New fabricated unit with plug-on stabs designed by Schneider ElectricField Services
• Industry leading Type S Square D starter and Square D controlcircuit components
• New door with rotary disconnect handle » Some styles will have a linear handle, such as the Square D Model 4
• Thicker gauge steel housing than the OEM on many units, such asAllen-Bradley Centerline 2100
• Drawings provided per Schneider Electric standards• Designed and tested per UL 845 and UL2727, Underwriters Laboratories
Standard for Motor Control Centers• Options for MCC direct replacement units:
» Solid-state overload (Motor Logic™ or TeSys™ T) » Circuit breaker or fusible disconnect » 22 mm or 30 mm pilot devices (mounted on door) » Interlock to prevent bucket from being removed while disconnect is closed » Custom engineered units available
Retrofit Solutions Also AvailableAnother upgrade option is retrofitting the genuine OEM bucket with all new Square D components. In a retrofit solution, the OEM stab assembly is also reconditioned and all units are tested in the OEM’s MCC section to ensure ease of installation and operation.
Better manage your critical processes, increase your productivity and save energy
The TeSys T overload motor management system makes your MCC Intelligent. Another intelligent option is to replace your existing starter unit with a variable frequency drive (VFD) unit. With a VFD, you can improve your energy usage (and costs) for variable torque loads (like a fan or pump).
Benefits of upgrading with an Intelligent MCC Replacement Unit
• MCCs are upgraded and networked into acentralized or distributed control scheme
• One control network simplifies future trainingrequirements
• Digital display can be mounted on the doorto minimize the need for opening/closing
• Advanced monitoring capability to optimizeprocess control (Individual motor energyperformance can be monitored)
• Maintenance can be scheduled on an as-needed basis
Why Choose Schneider Electric Field Services? We offer engineered solutions designed to increase safety, lower life cycle cost and maximize power system reliability to industrial, utility, and commercial customers throughout the US.
