Whitlam Place
Conceived as a two-part process of extended reflection and considered response, Whitlam Place is a collection of eleven timeless residences located within Fitzroy’s Golden Triangle. Driven by a team of creative collaborators, each element of the final project is informed by a totally commensurate design philosophy grounded in intellectual rigour and exceptional detail. It’s time to call Whitlam Place home.

Whitlam Place is conceived as a solid form resting atop a podium of light-filled transparency; balancing material weight against structural lightness, presence against permeability. Inspired by the classical proportions of the nearby Fitzroy Town Hall, Whitlam Place offers a dynamic interpretation of its fluted Corinthian columns and rich architectural detail. A copper oxide finish applied to the concrete exterior creates depth and compelling colour variation, as green and bronze tones subdue the material’s solidity, aided by the textures of layered vertical greenery.

Interior
The interiors at Whitlam Place amplify their site’s natural attributes, full-height sliding glass panels connect each home with the neighbouring park and tree-lined streets beyond to create spaces of daily sensorial experience. Chosen for their richness and raw natural beauty, each interior finish is complimentary to the sophisticated palette throughout. Blending artisanal practices and attention to detail; textures of warm timber and stone combined with ceramics and steel, brass and copper, echo the sensibilities of seminal modernist domestic design.
