While You Weren't HereWhile you weren't hereI cried every nightA million tears fellStill my heart wasn't right
While you weren't hereI did what I couldHoping against hopeMy decisions were good
While you weren't hereI gained some in ageThings just went onAnd life turned a page
While you weren't hereI just tried to go onKnowing what didn't kill meWould only make me strong
While you weren't hereA whole lot got changedMy life became differentMy world rearranged
While you weren't hereI had to learn to be aloneTo stand on my two feetTo make my own home
So that's where I am nowAt this stage of my lifeStill scared and aloneStill coping with strife
And oh how I wish thatThings could be differentThat I could go backTo a time in the past
To a time beforeYou weren't here
