What is the Officefor the Blind and

Visually Impaired?The Office for the Blind andVisually Impaired, or OBVI, is astate office that helps improvethe lives of people with visionloss. Professional OBVI staff provide one-on-one services at a localoffice or in your home. They also run group trainings and givepresentations.There is no charge for OBVIservices.

Who Can Contact OBVI?Anyone can contact OBVI forinformation or help with visionloss. OBVI staff serve:

· Adults in Wisconsin who are blind or visually impaired.· Friends, family, and caregivers of people with vision loss.· Anyone interested in learning about vision loss.

Professional OBVI staff can:

· Help with adjustment to vision loss.· Assess optical aids and lighting.· Teach new ways to do daily tasks.· Connect people with vision loss support groups.· Teach how to get around safely in the community.· Suggest helpful resources.· Give information about eye diseases and disorders.
