Wheatgrass
Oriens Wheatgrass “a complete food” with limitless health benefits.
Wheatgrass is often called the "Liquid Sunshine" because of its very
high content of chlorophyll. And chlorophyll is the green pigment
that harnesses the sun's energy.
Wheatgrass is the young grass of the wheat plant and is harvested
early when its nutrients and minerals contents are at its peak.
Most of us just don't get the chance to get all of the nutrients we
need into our bodies each day. From fruits to vegetables and more,
our busy lives take over and we seem to fall short. That's when we
start to take less care of ourselves, thus leaving many of us
susceptible to colds and other illness caused by a weakened immune
system.
Wheat grass can be traced back in history over 5000 years, to
ancient Egypt and perhaps even early Mesopotamian civilizations. It
is purported that ancient Egyptians found sacred the young leafy
blades of wheat and prized them for their positive affect on their
health and vitality. In the early 1900's a man named Charles F.
Schnabel attempted to popularize the plant for consumption. Think
of those old soap-box newspaper sales boys, but instead of
newspapers he was selling grass.
Ann Wigmore also did a study in the 1940's which concluded that all
natural grasses are beneficial to people's health and that wheatgrass
had the best results of all. In 1988, the Massachusetts Attorney
General sued Wigmore again, this time for claiming that an "energy
enzyme soup" she invented could cure AIDS Wigmore later set up a
health institute to study the health benefits of natural food. This
institute still studies wheat grass. Throughout the history of
wheatgrass, it has been recognized for its beneficial health effects.
The most outstanding feature of the wheatgrass is its very high
content of chlorophyll at about 70%. This alone makes it a
superfood that has a highly energizing and alkalizing effect.
Wheatgrass is a complete food and an excellent source of vitamin C,
E, K and B complex (including B12). In the minerals department, it
is rich in calcium, cobalt, germanium, iron, magnesium,
phosphorus, potassium, protein, sodium, sulphur, and zinc.
What is the history behind it?
Nutrional facts:
Wheatgrass
Wheatgrass contains 19 amino acids, which form the basis for
protein. Wheatgrass contains 92 minerals needed by the body to
function at optimal level. Wheatgrass has more vitamin C than
oranges and more vitamin A than carrots. It contains more than 80
enzymes, which helps with digestion. Wheatgrass contain 70%
chlorophyll.

Wheatgrass Super Food
Wheatgrass proponent Schnabel claimed in the 1940s that
"fifteen Pounds of wheatgrass is equal in overall nutritional
value to 350 pounds of ordinary garden vegetables", a ratio of
1:23.
30mls of freshly squeezed wheatgrass juice is equivalent in
nutritional value to 1kg of leafy green vegetables.
Wheatgrass contains over 90 minerals, including high
concentrations of the most alkaline minerals: potassium,
calcium, magnesium and sodium.
It contains the essential enzymes: Protease (assists in protein
digestion), Cytochrome Oxidase (a powerful anti oxidant),
Amylase (facilitates digestion), Lipase (a fat splitting enzyme),
Transhydrogenase (strengthens the heart muscle) &
Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) (found in all body cells and is
known for its ability to lessen the effect of radiation and slow
cellular aging).
Wheatgrass
Wheat Grass, weighing a mere 3.5 grams, is nutritionally equal
to an entire spinach salad weighing a full 50 grams – it packs a
punch!
Wheatgrass has more vitamin C than oranges and twice the
vitamin A as carrots!
Benets of Wheat Grass
Acidosis: Its alkaline minerals are essential for cleaning out the
tissues and maintaining the alkalinity of the blood, making it
effective in combating acidosis.Restores alkalinity to the blood. It
can be used successfully to treat peptic ulcers, ulcerative colitis,
constipation, diarrhea, and other complaints of the gastrointestinal
tract.
Wheatgrass
Anemia: The high grade content of iron in wheatgrass makes it a
great blood builder, increasing red blood cells count. It regenerates
and reactivates the red blood cells and supplies fresh oxygen to the
body. Wheat grass helps your body to build red blood cells which
carry oxygen to every cell.
Anti-inflammatory: The high alkalinity properties makes it the
perfect choice of food for people suffering inflammatory ailments,
like osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis.
Anti-oxidant: The high anti-oxidant content helps neutralize free
radicals and oxidation that find their way in the body. It helps
reduce the harm caused by air pollutants like carbon monoxide or
cigarette smoke.
Wheatgrass
Athletes foot: The anti-bacterial effect of wheatgrass helps to
relieve the itchiness caused by athletes foot.
Bad breath (halitosis) and body odor: The ability of this green
juice to detoxify the lymphatic system and gastro-intestines, makes
it a wonderful help in reducing or eliminating bad breath and body
odor.
Blood: Increases red blood-cell count lowers blood pressure. It
cleanses the blood, organs and gastrointestinal tract of debris.
Wheatgrass also stimulates metabolism and the body's enzyme
systems by enriching the blood. It aids in reducing blood pressure by
dilating the blood pathways throughout the body.
Wheatgrass
Body building: Wheatgrass contains a long list of amino acids that
are the building blocks of protein. It is reported to contain almost
50% protein (almost three times more than that of beef).
Cancer: A variety of flavonoid compounds found in this grass are
powerful anti-oxidants and anti-cancer agents. Studies have
indicated at least a 40% risk reduction in cancer development.
Detoxify: wheat grass helps to detoxify the lymphatic system. It
also helps eliminate encrustrations and faecal matter in the
intestines and colon for a healthier gastro-intestines. Is a powerful
detoxifier, and liver and blood protector
Diabetes: Wheat grass helps to regulate blood sugar level.
Enzymes: The enzymes and amino acids found in wheatgrass can
protect us from carcinogens like no other food or medicine. It
strengthens our cells, detoxifies the liver and bloodstream, and
chemically neutralizes environmental pollutants.
High blood pressure: The proteinous compounds in the high
quality chlorophyll from wheatgrass has been found to be beneficial
in lowering high blood pressure.
Heavy Metal: Neutralizes toxic substances like cadmium, nicotine,
strontium, mercury, and polyvinyl chloride.
Wheatgrass
Hair: Turns gray hair to its natural color again and greatly increases
energy levels when consumed daily.
Immune system: wheatgrass helps to build your immune system.
Immune booster wheatgrass is so mineral-rich, it is a powerful
illness fighter. It is a great source of beta-carotene, B vitamins, and
essential amino acids. These help break down fats and promote
dozens of essential biological functions.
Thyroid: Stimulates the thyroid gland, correcting obesity,
indigestion, and a host of other complaints.
Weight control: Because the nutrition in wheatgrass juice is so
complete, it relieves your body of cravings, thus reducing the
unnecessary need to overeat.
Beauty: Wheatgrass will cleanse your blood and help rejuvenate
aging cells, slowing the aging process way down, making you feel
more alive right away. It will help tighten loose and sagging skin.
Reduce radiation: Lessens the effects of radiation. One enzyme
found in wheatgrass, SOD, lessens the effects of radiation and acts
as an anti-inflammatory compound that may prevent cellular
damage following heart attacks or exposure to irritants.
Wheatgrass
The second important nutritional aspect of chlorophyll is its
remarkable similarity to hemoglobin, the compound that carries
oxygen in the blood. Chlorophyll is soluble in fat particles, and fat
particles are absorbed directly into the blood via the lymphatic
system, that chlorophyll can also be absorbed in this way. In other
words, when the "blood" of plants is absorbed in humans it is
transformed into human blood, which transports nutrients to every
cell of the body.
