Coming soon
The release is not the end of the story.
These are the features you should expect to find in coming EndNote 20 updates.
They will not all come at the same time. We hope to have some this year, with most coming in 2021.
For Mac users the launch of EndNote 20 will be in a few weeks – date TBC.
• Bug fixes
• Tabs
• Notes
• PDF navigation/thumbnails

7
Coming soon: Tabs
Multitask more easily by viewing your library’s content in tabs. Quickly switch between groups and individual references without losing your place or interrupting separate workflows.
8
Coming soon: Notes
Collaborate with colleagues more easily, or leave notes for yourself, by placing time stamped comments on your references.
Coming soon: Thumbnail viewer
9
Quickly scan through your PDFs to find the information you need faster with thumbnail views.
10
Coming soon: Groups search
Save time navigating through your library to find the papers you’re looking for.
Other considerations
When switching from your current version to version 20, you may need to take these points into account.
11
• Content Files will still work as before. Custom ones will
be picked up from your system and added to the new
standard ones that are installed.
• If you are on X9.2 or earlier, you will need to convert
your library the first time it is opened.
• Both the old and new versions can co-exist but only
one can be linked to Word for CWYW and only one can
automatically open text files when directly exporting
from sources.
• Documents created with previous versions will be fine.
• Shared libraries will be fine.
