What's New in AutoCAD 2022?

Join us on Wednesday, April 21st as we dive into the new features of AutoCAD 2022!

Some of the new enhancements that Autodesk has brought to one of it's most popular

products include accessibility to all of the Specialized Tool sets for all AutoCAD subscribers.

These tools allow users to find the best tools to complete their drawings using unique tools in

their trade-specific language.

We'll also go over some of the new cloud features added to AutoCAD that include the ability for

non-users to add comments, make edits and markup drawings right from their web browser.

These edits can also be done using your phone or tablet, making working on the go even easier.

In addi�on, when sharing files you now have the ability to send controlled copies of your

drawings which specifies view-only or edit and save capabili�es.

What's so special about the Revit Produc�vity Tools?

MicroCAD’s Revit Produc�vity Tools host a plethora of commands, however there are a few

that standout in clients’ workflows. The BIM Query tool, the Resize Sec�on Box in conjunc�on

with the Zoom To tool, and Renumber are u�lized by most.

The BIM Query tool allows users to choose categories and/or parameters to populate in a MS

Excel spreadsheet like editor. Users can edit the data in the na�ve Revit dialog box or save it out

to a MS Excel File. Once a user has finished edi�ng the content in MS Excel, the data can be

brought back into Revit and the appropriate proper�es can be updated accordingly. Situa�ons

we have seen this par�cularly useful in, is upda�ng Door parameters in MS Excel. A non-

proficient Revit user can easily update text-based parameters such as Fire Ra�ng, Hardware set,

Manufacturer, Model, or Comment parameters in MS Excel. Subsequently, a user can push that

data into Revit and have a Door Schedule with all relevant and required informa�on.

A few excellent zoom commands we have available are the Resize Sec�on Box and the Zoom

To. When used jointly they allow for extremely quick naviga�on of any model, but especially of

larger projects. When using the Resize Sec�on Box in 3D, users can quickly condense their view

to a par�cular Room, such as Stairwells, or Views, such as Level 1. When using collec�vely it

effortlessly finds any Room or Space within a given project.

Leica's BLK360 is a compact imaging laser scanner that uses a

360 degree laser distance meter and HD panoramic imaging to

create a 3D point cloud of the space around it. With powerful

LiDAR technology that captures 360,000 points per second, it

can complete a scan in minutes. The BLK360 has received

Our final feature is our Renumber tool, this tool has five exclusive tools beneath it [Renumber…

by Room, Mark Parameter, Grid, Room, Space or Area, and Views on Sheets]. The Renumber by

Room looks at categories such as Doors, Windows, and Furniture and renumbers the Mark

parameter according to the Room [Number] it is hosted too. The remaining four tools

introduce a dialog box that asks for user input to redefine the appropriate Category. Within this

dialog box, users can define whether the annota�on is Alphabe�cal or Numeric, if there should

be a prefix or suffix (or combina�on), as well as the increment to increase by. The Renumber

tools allow for users to have ul�mate control over their annota�ons/tags without needing to

manually type in each input.
