WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THESE ACTIVITIES?Tell About It Tag (Opening Activity)

The purpose of this activity is to introduce the children to the main point, which is, “Jesus showed us that He is the Son of God.” In response to that, they should tell others about Him.

Skit & Bible Story (Large Group Activity)The Skit and Bible story this week teach the children that because Jesus is God’s Son, we should worship Him, listen to Him, obey Him and tell others about HIm.

Treasure Hunt (Bible Review/Into the Bible Activity)The purpose of this activity is to get the children into their Bibles and review the Bible story.

Talk About It (Small Group Activity)This activity shows the children that when we spend time with God reading our Bibles and praying we will get to know Him better. The better we know Him the easier it is to talk about Him with others.

Hear My Voice (Small Group Activity)This activity will help the kids realize that because Jesus is the Son of God they should listen to Him, even if others tell them to do something different.

Act It Out (Small Group Activity)This activity will help the children see that Jesus performed many miracles, and that those miracles proved He was God’s Son.

God First (Small Group Activity)This game will help the children understand that when we worship God we are putting what He wants above what we want.

God’s Present 6 (Small Group Activity)This activity shows the children that since Jesus is God’s Son, we need to worship Him, listen to Him, obey Him, and tell others about Him.

Catch That Monkey (Large Group Activity)This activity is a strategic time to review and reinforce the content of the lesson.

LESSON 6: MIRACLE STONE - JESUS SHOWED US THAT HE IS THE SON OF GOD!

Single Teacher version - “Watch & Train” DVD

Purpose Statement: This skit teaches the children that because Jesus is God’s Son, we should worship Him, listen to Him, obey Him and tell others about Him.

Materials/Props Needed: nothing.

Note: This script uses Audio CD # 2.

• Lead the children through the opening activity “Tell About It Tag”

• Begin Worship Time

TeACher(CD Track # 1) Welcome, once again, to our Treasure Quest! We’ve covered a lot of ground so far on this journey and we are talking about some amazing things today. But first, I need to see what kind of energy you brought today. Everybody up, it’s time to sing!

Teacher leads children in singing the song.

TeACher(CD Track # 2) Great singing! I hope you’re ready to hear some pretty amazing stuff, because today we’re talking about miracles! Miracles can only come from God and, in the Bible, miracles were huge events that affected lots of people in a good way. Jesus used His power to perform many, many miracles while He was here on earth. However, Jesus performed miracles for a very important reason. He performed miracles so He could show us He is the Son of God. And I think it’s time to check out our main point for the day! Jesus Showed Us That he Is The Son of God!

Teacher leads the children by first demonstrating the main point with motions, or a child can help decide motions. Then have the children repeat the main point two or three times.

TeACherHonestly, Jesus performed too many miracles for us to talk about all of them. However, Andi and Kit will find out about three very important ones today, and so will we. Let’s find out which ones they are.

Note: Play Skit/Bible story video followed by “monkey challenge.”

TeACherThose were some amazing stories! I’m glad Jesus cares enough about people to show us His power and help us understand that He is God’s Son. You see, God was proud of His Son and wanted Him to perform miracles. That’s what our Bible verse tells us about.

TeACher Because Jesus is God’s Son, we should listen to Him by reading our Bibles. Also, we need to tell other people about Him, and we should worship Him. And that’s what I want us all to do right now by singing and giving our offering. Everyone, please sing with me.
