What a difference a day makes! You go to bed having finished a day that’s been pretty much the same for the last 30 years and wake up the next day a pastor. That’s how it works! What can I say? That’s what happened to me! When it’s your turn, it’s your turn, so you best be ready when He calls your name. It’s not quite like that but in some ways it is. Jesus says, “He who has ears let him hear.” (Matt 11:15) The truth is that God has a call that’s to all of us, a call to be in relationship with Him. It begins the day we’re born and never leaves us. We just have to get to the place in our lives to hear it, to have ears to hear. How do we get there? Are these ears different? How do we get these ears? Well, these ears are a symbol or metaphor for hearing, seeing and feeling. It means to realize, to become aware, to understand, to discover. As we go through life or journey through this life, we have experiences. Some are good, some bad but God uses these experiences to get our attention. I’ll talk more about that another time. Let me just say, I’m very grateful for the privilege to serve as Associate Pastor of Guymon Church of the Nazarene. What an honor and what a responsibility! This has been a very humbling experience, realizing a formal call from God to serve in ministry and to receive your confidence and trust to be a part of this pastoral staff. I can’t put into words the joy in my heart to be in God’s will. I’ve gotten to know many of your hearts and am looking forward to knowing more. I am eager for you to know my heart and for the days ahead serving together to advance the kingdom of God. I’m going to be praying for you and ask you to continue praying for me during this transition. I am grateful for and covet your prayers. Please cover our youth and youth workers in prayer. Praise the Lord for these leaders! There are exciting times ahead for our youth. The Spirit of God is moving in our church! Faith is increasing and so is the desire to obey. Jesus is touching people and there are testimonies of healing, delivery and victory. Others are testifying to a call from God and I believe this isn’t even the tip of the iceberg. Don’t you see what’s happening? As we pray and invite Jesus to disciple us, the Spirit of God is forming us into a church body of prayer and discipleship. We’re becoming the manifestation of our vision statement! Praise God!! In just a few weeks this church will host revival meetings. We’re excited to have pastors who are proven authorities on the subject of prayer to lead us during this time. Pastor Corey Jones from Crossroads Tabernacle of Ft Worth, TX, as well as Dan and Carol Ketchum from Kansas City. Dan is director of Nazarene Missions International (NMI) and global prayer initiatives. Please join us in praying for these speakers, each meeting, and for God to prepare our hearts to be in revival. Join me in praying for revival as a happening rather than for a set of scheduled meetings. Come Jesus!! I’m so excited to see what God’s going to do in the days ahead. Did I say that already? Well you’ll have to get used to it. I’ll be saying it often! Good night! I can’t wait to see who you’ll be in the Lord tomorrow when you wake up. In Christ, Pastor Monty Kids With A Purpose Prayer is a vital part of every family. I want to encourage you to make the prayer revival an important part of your plans. Set aside September 18-22 and bring your family as we pray together as a church. No child is too young to learn to pray. Nothing is too big or small to bring to God in prayer. Here are some specific ways you can pray for our kids: Pray for boldness at school that they would represent Jesus. Pray that they will be Jesus to those who cross their paths. Pray that they will help their families realize how important prayer is to keeping a family strong. Many things are getting ready to kick off in the kid’s department. We have quizzing that starts September 1 st . If you are interested in quizzing they study on Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. The first quiz is set for October 12. This year, they are learning the book of Genesis. We look forward to seeing all the kids learn and how they work hard to memorize the chapter of Genesis. The other quiz dates are December 7 in Piedmont, February 8 at Stillwater, March 29 in Woodward, and May 3 is Guthrie. The Regional Quiz is June 14 th at SNU. The children’s Christmas musical will start rehearsing on Sunday at 9:20 and on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. This is always a great ministry and we look forward to the kids sharing with us on a Sunday evening December 15th. They will begin working on "The Best Christmas Present Ever." Pastor Steve "Becoming People of Prayer and Discipleship." (580) 338-3553 www.guymonnazarene.org www.guymonfourtwelve.com Pastor Matt with a microphone. Many of you thought that was a mistake, but he prove you wrong! We had great fun as a staff preparing for the Gospel Night in Guymon recently, and I appreciate all y'all who joined us for a night of singing and rejoicing. There was a warm spirit of freedom and grace, and everyone enjoyed the many offereings of praise. We will do it again. As I look ahead to the fall I am in great anticipation for our Prayer Conference in September. We are asking God to Teach Us to Pray, and He will answer that prayer. Please pray with us in anticipation of those days, and plan to be here for those services. There is nothing more important than being in the presence of our Holy God, sitting at His feet. It may seem early, but this December we will offer the Drive Through Nativity to our community. What Bible character do you want to portray? How will you be involved: in set construction, costuming, or meals? If you know now what role you want to play, please contact me and let's get the ball rolling. Christmas is on the way, and we have the greatest gift of all to give! Joyfully, Pastor Angela Leonard Ravenhill: "You never have to advertise a fire. Everyone comes running when there's a fire. Likewise, if your church is on fire, you will not have to advertise it. The community will already know it." Revival is this month, September 18-22. Revivals are specially planned times to re-kindle the fire of passion in our hearts. If I say to myself, "Wayne, you are ok. You really don't need revival", I submit that is a clear sign of cooling off in my heart for the passion of God. The first sign of spiritual slippage in my life is being satisfied with where I am right now!! When I've lost my passion for more of God, it is a sure sign that I need to tend my fire. I am praying for fresh fire in my heart. I am praying for fresh fire in our church. You are the church. Will you come to revival? Will you come prepared to the fire to be caught ablaze? I pray you will sense a hungering for more of God and set some time aside to find what God has for you. Come to the fire. Come running. We welcome our new Associate Pastor Monty Sanders and his wife, Debbie, to our staff. Following the congregational meeting August 25, the church board voted to call Monty and he accepted. This is one of our own diving all in to ministry in a new call! Monty will be leading and equipping ministry to youth, parents, college, prayer, and discipleship along with staff pastors Steve and Angela. Welcome to the team. We welcome Molly Scott as our new Office Administrator. Molly grew up in this church, has been in Eduation for many years, and now will be serving you in our church office. Brian, Molly, and family are active in many church ministries. Stop by during the day or give a call to welcome her. This month will bring many opportunities to grow in God. Revival Sept. 18-22. Is this revival really for me??

Do you need a fresh touch from God?
