I must admit, that Christmas is one ofmy favorite times of the year. Themusic, the worship opportunities, thetraditions, and family trips. I grew up inOmaha, Nebraska. Some relativeslived there and some lived in Missouri,so travel was always a part of theChristmas celebration. How I loved

those family car trips to the farm. I still enjoy traveling to be with lovedones. How fitting because the very first Christmas, when Jesus cameto earth through a virgin birth to a godly couple, they were on a roadtrip. And Jesus came, ready or not to Mary and Joseph in Bethlehemwhere there was sparse room in an impromptu animal shelter for ababy to be born. Jesus traveled to earth to live among us. The son ofGod became the son of man to show how to love and bear our sin onthe Cross. It was a long trip. Without Jesus I canʼt imagine what theworld would be like right now. But because of Jesus, we have eternallife and the Holy Spirit in the heart of all who invite Him in. We live invictory. Do you know the Jesus of Christmas? Do you have victoryright now in your life? Youcan. Receive JesusasyourSavior andLordand be prepared for the journey of life both now and forever.Christmas is a good trip.Donʼt let Christmas pass you by. Do the important. Worship. Gatherwith friends and family. Celebrate in music and giving. Go caroling.Pray in your small group. Read the daily scripture passages from theAnticipate guide you will receive at church. Put God first in yourschedule and enjoy this Christmas See you in Worship?

I love this time of year in the church. It is a timewherewe remember and give thanks. It is a timewherewespendtimewithourfamiliesandlovedones. It is a time tobestill beforeGodand toofferpraise and thanksgiving to God. It is a time toanticipate the birth of Christ. hosting our Halloween costume party at theirbarn again this year! Thank you to their small group for helpingwith theeventaswell.Thestudentshadafunnightwheretheycoulddressupandplay some fun Halloween games. This year the NYI Council planned thisparty and did a great job! I am proud of the leaders they are becoming!

I have encouraged the students to spend asmuch time as they can asa family this month. I encouraged them to participate in OperationChristmas Child together as a family and for the students to take theirparents out for dinner and pay for them. Family is important and I wantour students to realize the importance of spending time together as afamily.

Our annual Thanksgiving dinnerwas great! Thank you to the churchMissioncouncil forplanning this funeveningand forallowingmetoplanthe dessert auction as a fundraiser for Denver mission. We fundraised$1,800! Thank you for attending, thank you for giving money so ourstudents cangoon this life-­‐changingmission.Thankyou forgiving to theKingdomof God.Maywe all serve andnot be served.Maywe all seek theKingdom of God first in all that we do.

May you experience the love of Christ this Christmas season.Mayweall celebrate the birth of our Savior. May we all remember the realmeaning of Christmas this year and rejoice in Jesus. Merry Christmas toyou and your families from Four Twelve Student Ministries!

The kids are busy getting preparedfor the Children’s ChristmasMusical. On December 16th at 6:30p.m. the kids will be presenting“Miracle on Main Street.” After themusical you are invited to come

downstairs and enjoy coffee and desserts as a fundraiser to help the kidsgo to World Quiz in June. Please make it a priority to be at as manyrehearsals as you can. Therewill be rehearsals onDecember 5th and 12th from6-8 and December 10th and 12th from 10:00 – 12:00.As the Christmas Season approaches, the best gift you can give your child

is to visit with them about Jesus and if he is their best friend. Jesus has givenus each so much. I want to encourage you and your family share God’s lovewith someone else this Christmas season. There are many ways you can dothis.Make plans to be a part of the night of caroling.Or drop a card to a personyou have not seen at church in awhile. Take Jesus to some else this ChristmasSeason. What awonderful timewehad celebrating thetruththat"HelpIsOntheWay!"Thatphrasehascome tomean somuch to our choir, and I hopethatyouholdontothat truth foryourself.Timesmay be hard, but God is so good! He's neverfailed you, and He said He never would. Amen!

I'm proud of our choir, who worked longand hard to memorize the music. I hope you were as encouraged by thetestimonies of our friend aswell, and that the reading of God'sWord tookroot in your hearts. Our tech team did an outstanding job of balancingsound,runningthe lightboard,andprovidingvisualsupport for thewholeevent. And they ministered in both services!

Youprobablynoticedsomeemptychairs in the choir loft. Comeand fillthem. We have lots of room for more singers. The choir, instrumentalensemble, and tech teams are a great place to find new friends andministry partners.

Peopleoften tellme, "Idon'thaveagreatvoice,"when Iask themaboutjoining the choir, or "I don't play very often,"when asked to join the band."Idon't knowverymuch," is a commonrefrainwhenasked to join the techteam.You know it had never rained when Noah built the ark? And giant-­‐

killerswere few and far between beforeDavid stepped up to fight. And asfor parting of a SEA? You get where I'm headed with this? Little is muchwhen God is in it. Bring your little and let God make it much!

Thank you to everyone who helped during Operation ChristmasChild National Collection Week. Throughout the week manypeople expressed their appreciation to our church for having ourdoors open again this year to be a drop-off site. We received 1,567shoebox gifts, 46 more than last year!
