About meMy name is Jessica Bruck, and this is my first year at the Walter Hill School; however, it will be my 10th year teaching! Some of you may know me from teaching at Harker last year. I will be your child’s English Language Arts Teacher. I graduated from Holy Family University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and Master’s Degree in Reading Intervention. I am married with two children, coach soccer, and I am in the Air Force Reserve.

I am excited to be here, and teaching in Swedesboro-Woolwich once again. I hope to assist your children with the transitions of elementary school to middle and high school. I know your children are going through a lot of changes, and we are all here to work together for their overall success. If there is anything I can do to support your child’s learning or transition, please let me know.

Homework

● How much is homework worth?● What if my child doesn’t understand the assignment?● What if my child is absent?

Students write down their assignments in their assignment books at the beginning of every class. Homework is then previewed for understanding.

It is encouraged for every student to read at least 30 minutes a night. Students should document their reading and notes. They can do this on a piece of paper and keep it in their Reading Binder.
