you will be asked to leave the library, you may receive Hours & Security could be called to escort you out.
Checking Out Materials
1. NO BOOKS WILL BE CHECKED OUT WITHOUT AN ID CARD.
2. No more than 3 books per subject may be checked out at one time.
3. The total limit is 10 books and the length of checkout is 3 weeks.
4. Renewals (checking out the same book(s) again) are allowed. Please bring the book(s) to the circulation desk to renew.

1. Library Textbooks are for in-library use only. They are on the upper shelves.
2. Reference (REF) books (upper level “upstairs” against the walls) may not be checked out (as in all libraries) so as to always be available in the library.

Overdue Books
1. A book is considered overdue if it’s not returned or renewed in 3 weeks
2. Overdue notices are sent through your Language Arts class.
3. If you receive one, please come to the library to renew, return or discuss the book listed on the notice.
4. Do not ignore notices!

Logging In Creates a Record
Be sure to Log Off the computer when you finish.
The computer keeps a record of ALL activity in your account and you could be blamed for inappropriate searching.

Computer Printouts
1.First 3 B/W pages free per day w/ current ID card with Internet on it.
2. Then $0.25 per B/W page charge regardless of whether you meant to print them or not. Be careful!
Always ASK the library staff if you need help with printing!
Photocopies (Xeroxes)
1.Single-sided copies are $0.25
2.Double sided copies are $0.50.

1. Please get pencil or pen if you do not yet have one out.
2. Write your name, your English teacher’s name, and the period at the top of the paper on your table.
3. Write the number of the Orange Active Expression device on your paper.

Using the Catalog Activities
1.Write down the name of the person sitting next to you that you will work with in the next two library activities.
3. Also copy the number of the half-sheet handout on your paper.
4. Turn in your half sheet when done.
Using the Catalog Contest
Decide who will be the Tech and who will be the Writer:
Tech will log on to the computer and access the EHS library OPAC.
Writer will write down answers from the computer.

Go to Esperanzahs.net and click on Academics and Library Media Center.
Next, click on OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) on the right side of the page.

Library Information Activity
Locate important library areas:1.“Writer” writes the correct
letter on the answer sheet.2.“Geographer” uses the map to
tell the writer which letter corresponds to each number.
You will return the maps when done.
When Finished:
1.Show answers to me or your teacher(s) when you are done.
2.If correct, the Geographer needs to copy the Writer’s answers.
3.If incorrect, go back and fix your mistake(s).
4.Make sure you have all answers.5.Take library quiz or work quietly.
