Welcome to the Deer Lodge wine list. You’ll find our wines listed by grape variety. The

wines within each grape heading are further listed lightest to heaviest in terms of their weight and intensity. To help a little further we have provided descriptions for each wine.

The descriptions are intended to give insight into what you’re about to get into...a little

quip to get you into the bottle, if you will. Sometimes the descriptions are straight forward, suggesting flavors that you may find in the wine, such as cherry, walnut, gunflint

or chalk. Sometimes the descriptions are more about a feeling or a mood rather than something specific, such as “...the feeling of a warm house...” or “...an empty riverbed ...”. It can be hard to find the exact words to describe wine, wine is sometimes more of a feeling

than it is a taste or a smell. Sometimes chardonnay is more like sitting on a sunny patch of grass, rather than the scent of fresh apple peel and vanilla.

We hope you enjoy our selections.
