Dear Parishioners,

We recently had a major Flea Market at St. Felix and a great Vacation Bible School at St. Cecilia. Thanks to everyone who worked so hard for these events. What is so gratifying is the willingness and eager spirit of folks crossing “Parish lines” to help one another. Very nice everybody!

Two more Vacation Bible School Camps are com-ing beginning on July 22. Saints Peter and Paul is in the morning (9 am to 12 noon) and St. Felix is in the evening (6:00-8:00 pm).

This week Bishop Barron’s Catholicism Series will begin for four Tuesdays, July 9, 16, 23 and 30, at 7:30 p.m. at St. Cecilia’s.

Every Parish is to have a Safe Environment Coordi-nator, a person whose job it is to make sure that parish vol-unteers, staff and clergy are compliant with all the regula-tions for the Protection of Children. Up to this point, those duties have been an additional part of someone’s job. With staff departures, we have the possibility to make one coordi-nator for all four of us and open up creative time for those who were doing this work.

Our Safe Environment Coordinator will be Andrea Korcan-Buzza, a parishioner at Sts. Peter and Paul who grew up at St. Joseph’s in New Brighton. As part-time professor at Geneva and past Registrar, she is very familiar with confi-dentiality and sensitive documents. The job is 10 hours a week and her office will be at St. Cecilia’s.

God Bless, Fr. Bob
