On March 22, 2010, LGPC extended an offer toJared Jensen to become our Modern Worship Director. Thanks to God, Jared felt God’s leading that Lake Grove Presbyterian Church was the

right next chapter in his ministry life.

The Modern Worship Director is a new leadership position at LGPC. Jared will provide worship leadership for our 8:00 a.m. service and will also

be a central leader in our new 4th service which will begin September 11, 2010.

Keep Jared in your prayers; he has quite a bit to do! He has a little more than 160 days to get to know our church, (cont. p. 3)

Welcome our New Modern Worship Director

INTRODUCING

It was 2004. I was leading worship

at a fairly large church, but I didn’t

think it was going to last long. On

the outside things were great: I was

part of a large church, I had two

great bands, I was recording CDs,

but inside I had my doubts about

what I was doing. I took some time

off and it was then that the words

of Nehemiah 12:46 jumped off the

page: “For long ago, in the days of

David and Asaph, there had been

directors for the singers and for the

songs of praise and thanksgiving to

God.” That was it! That’s what I had

been looking for. Being a ‘Director

of Worship’ was a calling going all

the way back to the days of David.

Ever since then, God has been

calling people to lead His church in

worship, and I am thankful to be

standing in that historical stream. It

has been my deepest privilege to

serve the church with my gifts. That

is what has led me here to Lake

Grove Presbyterian Church. It is

my desire to serve you and assist in

leading you in corporate worship as

we gather weekly to remember the

goodness and greatness of our God.

Introducing The Jensens cont. put together a team, and launch a new worship service. But we believe Jared has it in him! Jared has successfully started multiple new worship endeavors at 3,000-member churches in Omaha, NE, Phoenix, AZ and in Yakima WA.

Jared impressed our interview team with his deep love for Jesus Christ and His church, as well as a love for and knowledge of Reformed Theology. Jared will lead us in worship in a way that will build bridges to those we aren’t reaching and yet feel congruent with the excellent musical experience we’ve become familiar at Lake Grove Pres. We think Jared’s worship leadership and musical direction will be“familiarly different” to members and friends of LGPC.

LEYTON IS FOUR YEARS OLD, AND HE IS ALL “BOY”. HE LOVES FARMING WITH HIS GRANDPA AND RIDING ON THE TRACTOR. HE LOVES TO PLAY WITH CARS AND TRUCKS, AND GO FOR BIKE RIDES. HE LOVES BEING OUTSIDE AND HIS FAVORITE MOVIES ARE “CARS” & “RESCUE HEROES”.

EVIE

EVIE IS THREE YEARS OLD... AND SHE’S GOT “MOXY.” HER BEST FRIEND IS HER BROTHER. WHEN SHE ISN’T BUSY HELPING HER MOM IN THE KITCHEN, SHE’S OUTSIDE TRYING TO KEEP UP WITH HER BIG BROTHER!

CHRISTI

CHRISTI IS ORIGINALLY FROM IDAHO, SO SHE IS NO STRANGER TO THE NORTHWEST. SHE IS AN AVID “COUPONER”. SHE FINDS GREAT JOY IN BEING A STAY-AT-HOME MOM AND FILLS HER DAYS WITH SEWING, FRIENDS, KIDS, AND WORKING IN THE GARDEN.
