I guess the old cliché is true, “time flies when you’re having fun.” Even though we did not do any degrees during the month of March, we still had other things going on. I want to congratulate our newly obligated Brothers, Ed Bolos and Ken Wise. They both took the solemn obligation as Entered Apprentice Masons on February 27, 2019. Both of them will be giving their proficiencies at our stated meeting on April 4, 2019. I have met with both of them and they are ready. They both will be scheduled for their Second Degree on April 11, 2019. So, if you can, come to the Lodge and show your support for our brothers as they take their journey into Masonry. During our stated meeting in March, we had the pleasure of formally welcoming our District Inspector, Worshipful David Coss. I heard nothing but positive compliments from Worshipful Coss during his visit and that is a testament of the hard work that our officers are putting into the craft. A special THANK YOU goes out to our officers’ coach, Worshipful Herme Valdeabella, our Marshall Brother Andrew Block, our Senior and Junior Deacons, Brothers TJ Miranda and Brother Lou Bartolome. They did an outstanding job performing the ritual work on welcoming our inspector. Some our officers were also involved in the Raising of a brother at Hanford Lodge on March 20, 2019 during our school of instruction. There were 5 lodges represented during this event. Once again, nothing but positive comments were given to all the officers involved with the degree. This event was a true testimony of our moto for the year T.E.A.M. In closing, keep a close eye on our calendar of events. There are several events planned for the upcoming months. You can view this on our Lodge App or our Website. Greetings Brethren,

I can’t believe that we are now in April or how the past 3 months have come

and gone. I guess the old cliché is true, “time flies when you’re having fun.” Even

though we did not do any degrees during the month of March, we still had other

things going on.

I want to congratulate our newly obligated Brothers, Ed Bolos and Ken

Wise. They both took the solemn obligation as Entered Apprentice Masons on

February 27, 2019. Both of them will be giving their proficiencies at our stated

meeting on April 4, 2019. I have met with both of them and they are ready. They

both will be scheduled for their Second Degree on April 11, 2019. So, if you can,

come to the Lodge and show your support for our brothers as they take their journey

into Masonry.

During our stated meeting in March, we had the pleasure of formally

welcoming our District Inspector, Worshipful David Coss. I heard nothing but

positive compliments from Worshipful Coss during his visit and that is a testament of

the hard work that our officers are putting into the craft. A special THANK YOU

goes out to our officers’ coach, Worshipful Herme Valdeabella, our Marshall Brother

Andrew Block, our Senior and Junior Deacons, Brothers TJ Miranda and Brother

Lou Bartolome. They did an outstanding job performing the ritual work on

welcoming our inspector. Some our officers were also involved in the Raising of a

brother at Hanford Lodge on March 20, 2019 during our school of instruction. There

were 5 lodges represented during this event. Once again, nothing but positive

comments were given to all the officers involved with the degree. This event was a

true testimony of our moto for the year T.E.A.M.

In closing, keep a close eye on our calendar of events. There are several

events planned for the upcoming months. You can view this on our Lodge App or

Masonic Education…

“Ritual memorization makes you is a parrot and a parrot doesn’t think it just mimics. Knowledge comes from the art of contemplation that allows us then to internalize that which our senses have encountered.”

– Bro. Tim McCurry

…thru Masonic Art Education

This re-creation of a

commonly known Masonic

painting was recently painted

by our own Bro. Edward

Block.

We felt it important to share

this with our Brothers. One,

for Brother Eds passion of the

Craft. Two, because we

should all strive to learn our

Craft, it’s symbolism, and

adapt those meanings to

improve our own lives.

In this rendition, Brother Ed

made sure to understand

what each item was and tried

to understand its symbolic

meaning before putting it to

canvas.

Brother Block, this is an

awesome job, and we

commend you on your desire

to grow in Masonry. Be

careful, Welcome Lodge has a

whole lot of canvas ready for

your brush! Thank you for

sharing.

“The Regius Manuscript was written in about AD 1390. It is the oldest and arguably the most important

Masonic document in existence. It is unusual because it is written as a poem, whereas Masonic documents that

followed it are in prose. It was also written at a time when Roman Catholicism prevailed in England, and it contains

a section on proper behavior in church. It includes much of the legendary “history” of Freemasonry and was most

likely interpreted in poetic form by a monk who was inspired by even earlier Masonic writings that no longer exist.

It is one of 99 documents of varying ages referred to as the Gothic Constitutions, which make up the earliest rules

for the stonemason guilds that eventually became the modern fraternity of Freemasonry. Over time, the Gothic

Constitutions became less influenced by Trinitarian Christianity, and less secular, but this early document is quite

religious in tone.”

“The original document is written in Old English language that is difficult to understand.” James Halliwell

translated it in 1840, so it is sometimes referred to as the Halliwell Manuscript for this reason. “It is preserved in

the British Museum in London and was donated to the museum in 1757 by King George II (which is why it is called

regius, Latin for “king”).”
